Great podcast, audio issue
One of my favorite podcasts. However, I wish you could turn your volume up or the commercials down, I have to turn the volume up to hear well and then get blasted by the ad.

I like it, but...
Just heard the first two episodes & liked it right off the bat. Just a little disappointed that, also right off the bat, it's littered with unnecessary profanity. I can appreciate a well placed F bomb when merited, but gawd! I get tired of it just because they think it somehow makes them sound cool. It doesn't. It's just boring & they sound like the proverbial dorky kid, trying to fit in with the "cool kids." Call me a pearl clutching Karen if you want, but somebody's mammaw is probably turnin' in her grave. Also, what's up with the constant, sudden, LOUD, OBNOXIOUS, ads? Can't FF fast enough.

Mountain Murders is such a unique gem in the true crime world. Heather and Dylan bring an Appalachian perspective that you just don’t get anywhere else. The cover East coast cases with deep research, genuine chemistry, and a personality that makes every episode feel like you’re sitting around a fire swapping stories. If you love true crime with real heart and a little Southern flavor, this one’s for you.

What a great show, take me to the Mountains!
Heather and Dillon are such a great couple. They bring sagacity and sarcasm to these murders mostly in and around Appalachia. They study their stories well and aren't afraid to tell you what they think and how they feel. They are smart, listener responsive and entertaining to a great degree. I especially like Dillon's self-deprecating sense of humor. More please!

If murder talk could be a breath of fresh air…
I’ve recently started streaming … I’m late to the punch, I’m still in 2019 but I had to drop in and tell you how much I am enjoying Mountain Murders! Just enough banter to make you feel like you’re just part of the conversation. I’ve listened to many true crime podcasts and I feel like Heather and Dylan do it a bit differently. I don’t feel like I’m just hearing the same stories yet again.
I just heard the episode where you talked about a Karen troll and I LOVED Heather’s response😏Don’t let anyone police your language… if they’re too sensitive, they should just turn it off and watch something else… and get over themselves!! 😊😊

Great podcast, bad editing.
I really like this podcast but it is impossible to enjoy. The ads are LOUD AND FREQUENT. It is obnoxious. I’m 16 minutes into the Adam Walsh episode and already had four LOUD ad breaks. Why spend so much time producing the show if the final product is impossible to listen to?

The ads
Why the frequent ads that are obnoxiously louder than the podcast???

Love this podcast
Been listening to you guys for a long time, keep up the great work! You did a wonderful job on the Adam Walsh case. Thank you!

Love This Podcast!
I found this podcast very recently & fell in love immediately, binging all the episodes every chance I got. I’m sad I’m all caught up & can’t wait for new episodes!
I listen to a lot of true crime podcasts and I usually have little patience for hosts that have banter and a lot of asides - this podcast is the exception to the rule, because it’s so organic and not forced attempt at humor - it feels more like I’m sitting outside in front of a fire pit, just drinking beer with friends, shooting the breeze (my favorite aesthetic!). And being that we’re the same age, I totally relate to being a former hellraiser, turned homebody :).
Love y’all and keep doing what you’re doing, and I’ll keep doing listening! And keep cursing - some of these pearl clutching reviews cracked me up!

Thanks!
As always, I love this podcast! The banter between you both is so much fun.
Heather, you are Top tier in what you do. I know it takes a lot of time, dedication & research to come through with the content you provide. I just want you to know that you are appreciated for that. Dillon is very much appreciated as well.
You are wonderful together!
Much love!

Committed!
I think Heather and Dillon are great. I cycle through about 27 podcasts and then find a new one to listen to from beginning to end. I immediately joined Patreon at the $5 level because I can't handle commercials. I think I'm about at Episode 88. You guys are funny together. However, you show these tragic victims the respect they deserve. You don't joke about the victims, only each other. I haven't looked up what you guys look like, but from what I gather, Dillon needs to take better care of his health: lose some weight, stop smoking, and don't drink so much. Heather wants you to stick around for a very long time, despite what she says. You guys seem like you are truly in love AND actually like each other. That comes through in the podcast, which I think is the formula that makes it so good. One more thing...Thank you LORD that you got rid of that initial opening music you had. I almost stopped listening because of it, but I held onto hope that it would go away. Thank you for being you‼️‼️‼️😊

Finally the closure I needed for some cases that have haunted me
I'm writing to express my gratitude to the Mountain Murders podcast team for sharing the stories of Zebb Quinn and Karen Styles. I lived in AVL during these murders and always wondered what the whole story was.
Your in-depth coverage revealed details I'd never known. Your dedication to storytelling and research is impressive, and I appreciate the care you take in honoring the victims and their families.
If only we could get Justice for Amber Lungren. I was at Bar Code the night before she was there and I’ve always felt so haunted by her case.
Thank you for shedding light on these tragic events.

Great show!
Love y’all! (WV girl here) you know what I hate? That we live in a time of “trigger warnings”. It’s like, “Hey, you’ve clicked on a true crime podcast. However, if crime, or true stories upset you, turn away now.” People are such pansies! — I’d like to see Heather armed with a fly swat or something and hit Dylan when he says something weird. Trigger warning— husband abuse. LOL

The best true crime podcast!!
Love the podcast! I searched Appalachia murders one day on my podcast app and found y’all and haven’t looked back !! It’s been so fun !
All the haters can kick rocks !! I tell my hubby funny things y’all say & sometimes he gets to listen if the podcast is going & we are working in our art studio. Keep up the great work !!! 💛💛

A lot of uneducated opinions on subjects they obviously have no info on. Turned it off after a bit opinions are fine. But at least look things up

My favorite podcast!
I’ve been really into true crime my entire life, and podcasts for a few years now, but didn’t discover this one until sometime last year. I was curious even though I live in California and had very limited knowledge of their region. I fell in love instantly! Heather does really great work with the research and Dylan is hilarious. Their banter cracks me up! It’s like hanging out with friends. They get me through my long days at work, and since I started late I’ve gone back and listened from the beginning between new episodes, and I’m almost all caught up! Which is bittersweet. Check them out!

Embarrassing
I’ve just listened to a few episodes based on stories from an area where I live. The gossip, speculation, mispronunciations, conspiratorial ramblings, and “facts” that I personally know not to be true are all way too much. The hosts are silly at best and probably just not very bright. Im a dumber human for wasting an hour listening to this drivel.

Hmm, your hate motivates :)
I was reading thru some of these reviews and wow… lol…. The reasons some of these people are hatin’ is the same exact reason I love y’all! But I do agree with some, the first several few episodes was hard to listen to, with the mic issue and in and out…. But you finally got it together… and I have “triggers(mental)” and it’s hard to listen to some people, their voice or tone or whatever it is, is triggering and I just can’t…. And to be honest, I was worried this would be one of those, and even tho heathers voice is very prissy and proper sounding, it doesn’t trigger me, so that’s great!!!! I do believe it is because Dylan’s voice and tone just levels everything out! And the longer I listen the more we are “kindred spirits” and have ALOT in common (sent dm on instagram) you two keep doing you! And one day when yall do a live show, we will drive the little ole 2hrs up to see one :)

Thorough research, with respect for victims. The banter between Heather and Dylan has me giggling, cackling, and at times wheezing with laughter. As a child of the foothills they sound like home and I look forward to every episode.

LOVE THESE PEOPLE!
When I first found Mountain Murders I was hooked from the first episode! Their banter is hysterical! Heather always does a very thorough dive into the cases. They have such huge hearts for victims and their families. They aren’t afraid to say what they think about these horrible murderers and I truly appreciate that. I look forward to every episode. I’m going to join Patreon this next week! Thank you Heather and Dylan!

Top notch true crime
Heather & Dylan are a funny & open-minded couple. They are easy to get to know, most importantly their true crime stories are top notch. I appreciate having hosts that I find myself agreeing with on different matters/topics. I am typically listening to an episode while cleaning, cooking or tending to 2 kids so I am not always able to listen to every detail at every second. This podcast makes that so easy. I can only imagine how time consuming it is to have the details to tell a true crime story. I will be supporting them in the near future so I can get that exclusive content, once I’m done with all this content!!

Love these 2!
Esp when they argue. They are hilarious, and I’m happy to be here for it. They sound like my ppl (Virginians) too.
Note: I am still in episodes from 5 years ago. Hope they stay wonderful.

Local murder, love it!
I grew up in Cullowhee and moved back in 2014. Love learning about local murders. Do you have a website or email?

A truly exceptional podcast.
Heather and Dylan are a husband and wife who put out a truly well done podcast. This podcast covers murders set in the Appalachian mountains. The couple has incredible chemistry, and oodles of charm. Their interactions add so much charm to the horrors they clover. Heather is the Queen of Research. Dylan is the Duke of Dialogue and Distraction. If you don’t listen to Mountain Murders, you should.

Fascinating Cases and Amazing Banter
I stumbled upon the show as it was referenced in a book I was reading and I wanted to see if it was real. It is and it’s amazing!
Thank you Heather and Dylan for all of your time, energy, and enthusiasm!

So much fun!
Y’all crack me up! Love, love, love your show!!

Natural Banter
The natural banter between the hosts makes it feel more like a chat with friends than just another podcast. The episodes are well researched and told in a great way
Murder & Mimosas
Victim blaming.
Horrible take on the Danny Masterson trial. Extreme victim blaming. This was genuinely one of my favorite podcasts and I wrote an email about how disappointed I was with the way they discussed this trial- that they said they didn’t even keep up with…I received a very lengthy and rude response back. Just because some criticizes you, doesn’t mean they’re attacking you. I definitely won’t listen again and the doubling down on victim blaming is disappointing and frankly, disgusting.

I love Heather & Dylan! They’re informative about the cases they report yet light hearted and funny too. I also love the honesty and spark between them. And the research is clearly thorough. I feel like they’re my friends!

Here’s your 5!
I love this show and I really hope they take a deep dive into a case I sent them a few months ago. I know they will actually report everything and not leave things out like they did on Crime in the Coalfields. Heather and Dylan crack me up but at the same time they are serious about the cases they are covering.
Tiny treasures
These two are growin on me like a funky crevice mold
I love the banter, accents and respectful coverage of true crime cases. Super bummed that I’m almost finished with all the episodes. 10/10 recommend!!!

Listening to mountain murder is like sitting around the bonfire with your best good buddies on a fall night, drinkin a cold one, and passin the bl*nt while discussing true crime with Wu-tang playing softly in the background (Enter the Wu). There’s laughter, tears, anger, and opposing views. Things might get a little heated but at the end of the night, we hug say our goodbyes, and get ready for the next episode. ✨ I like the tangents and hearing differing opinions keep doin you ✨

My Go-To
This is absolutely my go-to podcast. When a new episode pops up, it’s the first one I listen to. I love Heather and Dylan’s sense of humor and their candor, plus the focus on Appalachia and the unique things about it. It’s not a podcast focused on professionalism, but it’s now my favorite over the other true crime podcasts who do have a standard, “professional” setup.
