After last weekend's extreme winds, loose unconsolidated snow has formed wind slabs throughout the avalanche terrain. This combined with extreme cold has created complex problems to be aware of if traveling in the mountains this weekend.

We recap the weather with a lot of snow activity this week that ended with a human triggered avalanche in Left Gully on January 21st, 2021. One skier was carried the length of the gully and partially buried.

After a full reset from the Grinch Storm, we're building back a base for backcountry skiing and riding. With an increase in traffic at Pinkham Notch, it's great news to hear that there was no major incidents, but hazards are still there.
