As we draw the year to an end we also wrap up season 1 of the Morning Assembly Podcast with our final guest. Puni Jackson is the Director of Hoʻoulu ʻĀina, a 100-acre nature preserve nestled in the back of Kalihi Valley and cared for by Kōkua Kalihi Valley Comprehensive Family Services, a nonprofit community health center and FQHC.

THE Radiant Rain is our guest on episode 4 of Morning Assembly. Rain is the owner of both Unified Championship Entertainment (UCE Wrestling) and BMaxFitness. She has been wrestling professionally since 2000 and has the awesome distinction of being the only guest on our show with her very own wikipedia page!

On episode 3 we talk with Amanda Noguchi, Owner and Creative Director of Under My Umbrella, Co-Owner of Pili Group and Co-Founder of Chef Hui. A snapshot in time, we get to hear about Amanda’s early beginnings, how she scared Ryan, and how she truly lives her values through her work and her love for the community. With this podcast we mark another successful partnership in the books.

We talk with Vu Le of the celebrated blog nonprofitaf.  Self described as a “dude from Seattle” Vu is a nationally recognized public speaker, writer, vegan, Pisces, and former executive director.  He has a penchant for baby animals, unicorns, and has something to say about nonprofits and our sector.  Special guest host Jessica Garlock of the HIHO Education Department sits in with us to chat with Vu about everything that is going on from covid-19 to black lives matter.  A true champion for change we are so fortunate to share some laughs with Vu even if he spoils some movie endings along the way.

Our very first guest on the Morning Assembly Podcast is Lisa Maruayama. Lisa is the President and CEO of Hawaiʻi Alliance of Nonprofit Organizations (HANO). She has been with HANO for the past 11 years and has been friends with HIHO for the past 6 years. Our talk takes us from our first meeting (all three of them) to Chicago to Washington DC and back. Along the way we talk about a lot of different things eventually getting around to some nonprofit topics and volunteerism.
