In this episode of More Than Good Food, we explore how the family dinner changed when a young woman decided to become a vegetarian and then a vegan. The first thing her mom said was - yes, and then started to dig into the research to keep her daughter healthy. In this week's episode, we continue to build on concept of happiness as a choice, which was introduced by Dr. Jean Skillman in episode 8. I'm joined by one of my teachers, Caroline Dupont, where she explains the effect of emotions on our body. This is a topic that speaks dearly to my heart, both as a Health Coach and in my own personal journey. I have affirmed my belief that our emotions and our body are so deeply interconnected - and somehow that often gets ignored when we're not perceived to be feeling happy. In this episode of More Than Good Food, we explore the concept of Happiness. In episode 8, Dr. Jean Skillman said happiness is one of the pillars of health. She also said that happiness is a choice - a controversial statement for some. Webster Dictionary defines happiness as a state of being happy, which doesn't really say much of anything, in my opinion. However "happy" is defined as feeling or showing pleasure or contentment. What does that mean in terms of living a healthy life? In a society of social media, where we are expected to show ourselves at our best, what does happiness really mean? Is it a fleeting sensation of pleasure, and where does contentment fit into it? These are the questions that came to mind, and that I posed to Caitlin McCarthy.
