The episode on Shaniya Davis was too graphic. The poor five year old girl was raped and they play audio of how they knew she’d been raped that describes the evidence. This girl was raped and murdered and you are exploiting her death for shock value. I’m tempted to report this episode.

I stumbled upon the pod cast looking for a certain case and I have been hooked since. She goes into great detail of every case. I actually love her voice too! I will admit, I do cry when the children cases are talked about. Keep doing what you are doing! 🫶🏼

Where is the racism? The crime was brutal the victim innocent and the perpetrators vile humans and police incompetent. But unless I missed something the one & only time race was even mentioned was in the police audio surveillance. Even the victim was at a loss as to why he was attacked ! Yet the entire show was about racism. Can we all do better? Especially those with a platform and a louder voice.

I’ve enjoyed this podcast over the years but am starting to notice the attention given to the murderer is not warranted. For example, in the latest episode, the host goes into detail about his time in prison, his health issues and how he dies. I don’t really care to hear that nor give any more attention to a homicidal maniac. Simply saying “he died in prison” is enough information, in my opinion.

Love the content of the show. The frequency, length, and repetitiveness of ad breaks is infuriating.

I love the long-format. If I want to read a summary or one article on a case; I would look it up on a search engine. (I tend to be wary of 27-30 minute episodes)

you might hear the host describing how the child victim’s parents allowed a far-right group to use their child’s murder to further their racist agenda and completely miss the facts that the parents were negligent and allowed convicted child predators access to their own daughter, made excuses for them when they were caught abusing her, and then took zero responsibility when she wound up endangered, missing, and likely murdered. If you hear all that and call it politics being shoved down your throat, you might not be a safe place for children.

Unbelievable that the host is still improperly pronouncing words. Still ignorant and uneducated.

…is TOO long!!! if you want to do multiple commercials in the beginning, then you’ve got to quit playing so much music. I really love the podcast in general so I can’t understand why you would choose to purposefully irritate with all the music in the beginning. The first part last too long…. But then when you make us listen to more music right before you start talking, it feels like you’re torturing us on purpose. Every other part is great, so can you please figure out a way not to make us wait five entire minutes for the show to start? I understand you have to have ads. What you don’t have to have is completely annoying music that we are subjected to throughout the show. The piano part is just nails on a chalkboard.

Just scrolling through the episodes and looking at the graphics for each, I can say that I’m disappointed but not surprised. There are entirely too many missing and murdered black and brown people for this series to overwhelming focus on white stories. No thanks..

Emily’s voice and accent don’t bother me but her political bias does. We are constantly getting political division shoved down our throats daily every direction we turn so I’m not willing to listen to it needlessly peppered throughout a victims. I get enough of it on the news, Facebook and instagram so I don’t need it on my true crime podcasts as well. In her most recent episode on Charlene Downes you can hear the distain in her voice when reading a comment made by the victims mother as the opinion stated in the comment was obviously not shared by the host. Can we just get accurate information without personal interjections?? Focus on the victims please!

If you look at the transcript, the ads cut out integral parts of the narrative. This shows poor post-production work / editing. Please do better. And we’re not your besties. Find a better tag line.

It’s a simple, no-frills podcast. Typically very respectful. Absolutely hate that there is no transition or warning for ads, it makes it really weird and confusing. Also, “besties”? Girl, this is child murder. Also, SO many episodes about children without any trigger warnings for violence or SA. Also, while I love a fast pace, she talks fast even for me.

This is a great podcast all around but I’d like to ask Emily to reconsider the ad choice- having a firearms advertisement in nearly every recent episode seems in poor taste considering the content and especially in the US with our gun violence epidemic.

This podcast is bingeable and captivating (love the theme song), but it also ventures into feeling exploitative. I think it’s the “besties” goodbye at the end after we’ve just heard a really brutal murder and its effects. I love that attention is given to the victims and who they are. It doesn’t sensationalize the murderer.

I’m hard to please when it comes to true crime pods. I usually err towards those that have 2 hosts and some side conversations or banter. This is completely different but I LOVE IT. Emily’s accent is lovely and draws me in enough where I find myself more focused on the story somehow. There’s no fluff. She is very direct about the cases and I like how she incorporates media from public records, like 911 or other emergency calls made, interviews with law enforcement, and audio from the trials. I like that the podcast isn’t about the host and her beliefs but instead focuses on the crime story itself. I’m glad I found this podcast so late in the game because there are tons of episodes to binge!

The voice is so monotone it’s hard to listen to! I tried to go back a year and see if I could follow along but the accent and lack of any inflection is awful

Just stumbled upon this podcast and I love it. I love the narrators voice!

I usually enjoy this podcast, however lately I find myself skipping ad after ad after ad. How many ad breaks can you fit in a 40 minute podcast? There have also been several times where a sentence is repeated or a loud noise is made and not cut out, or random music that seems to indicate an ad break (they almost never line up).

I’ve previously listened to this podcast since around Covid and thought the narrator was a great researcher and told stories emphatically.. but this latest episode was horrible. To clip in audio of the victim crying out for help and in pain served no purpose besides adding shock value. There was no benefit to doing this and no was to excuse it. It was extremely shocking when it came up because I couldn’t believe she would actually clip it in. Immediately lost a listener.

Researched, written, and narrated well, with a great focus toward not sensationalizing the cases. I also really, really appreciate some lesser known cases being covered. Highly recommend!

I’ve been a fan for a few years now. I love just about everything you do. One criticism I have is at the start of every episode when you describe the setting you always say the place is ‘nestled’ somewhere. It’s such a cliche, maybe consider mixing it up from time to time. There are other things like this that annoy me. But it’s a small gripe and will not stop me from listening.

The voice takes a bit of getting used to like others I thought it was AI at first. Other listeners are correct with their criticism but it was something I could get past. Over all I like the lesser covered cases. The host is straightforward, factual, and impartial.

I usually listen to you after evening time. I love the evenness and flow of your voice. You help me relax with your tales of murder. Mucho gracias!

I love the cases and the way the hosts portrays them however the breaks of silence are to long I often find myself making sure that the show is still playing thinking something has gone dead and it never is stop doing this please

Most of the podcasts in my queue are true crime podcasts so I’ve heard a lot of the same stories over and over but it’s refreshing to hear a little difference in each one and getting more and more details. I’ve been binge listening to your backlogs for about 2 months now and they’re great! I love your voice, it’s very soothing but not too monotone. Can’t wait to catch up on the newer ones! This show is well researched and presented. Hostess is respectful of the victims and their families and tells the entire story from start to finish in an easily digestible episode. There is a good case variety and it is never boring. Great job! Have a listen!

The cases might be interesting but I wouldn't know because the speaker is way too boring. Might be ok if I'm trying to fall asleep to a monotone voice that has no personal touch at all. I think she is just reading a script.

I swear, sometimes the host will repeat a sentence (or even two-three) *verbatim*. One after the other. No idea why. The cases covered are great, but are longer than they need to be. And as has been mentioned, the transitions to add are jarring and off-putting.

Morbid was recommended to me when I searched true crime, but it wasn’t my speed. Morbidology was beside it so I figured why not. As it turns out, this podcast is actually exactly what I’ve been looking for. The host tells the story and gets right to it. There’s no disrespectful side banter and laughter. The story is told and treated very seriously. At this point I’ve burned through almost every episode.

Absolutely unbearable accent that sounds completely fake. It’s off and on and so hard to listen to. I really wanted to listen to one of the stories and couldn’t finish it bc of the podcasters accent changing off and on.

I really enjoy listening. I do wish the pauses weren’t so long. I always think my phone turned off. Won’t make me stop listening, just a bit unnatural and strange.

I truly enjoy the fact that Emily covers not only US cases, but cases abroad. A lot of True Crime podcasts cover the same cases over and over, each with a different spin. But I’ve learned about cases that I’d never heard of before. In addition, I’ve found it to be very respectful that Emily adds the picture of the victim(s) as the tile for the episode. Many podcasters use only their main podcast name as the tile for every episode. Adding their picture, to me, shows respect and care for each victim. Making each episode personal with a face to put to the case immediately without having to dig. Thank you for that. And thank you for sharing their lives with us in such a touching way. I appreciate it.

I like this true crime podcast because she states facts. She’s not over embellishing with her thoughts, dragging the podcast on.

I really like this podcast! There’s so many crappy podcasts out there. This is one of the few that I actually listen to, and I like both the cases and the storytelling. I enjoy the fact that many of the stories are creepy and thought-provoking. Definitely one of my top five and worth a listen without a doubt.

Every time I hear the intro music it sounds like a 1980s p0rn soundtrack like the kind that you would get in one of the motels on airline highway (where often the old-school TV preachers used to “hang out”).

I know Emily contributes to They Walk Among Us and she is a great writer and prolific storyteller. I know she’s from Northern Ireland and I’m familiar with the accent, but there’s something off about her cadence and the rhythmic pauses in her narration that go beyond a lilt and simply become singsong and frankly annoying. I keep listening from time to time but can’t subscribe as I would not be able to listen regularly. I’ll buy her books and appreciate her work elsewhere. I think that with a bit of coaching she might give a more polished presentation and that would be wonderful. Sorry, I can’t take the ads. Ugh, they’re awful, mostly pseudoscientific garbage that she reads out with a straight face. I guess it’s one way to get subscribers.
