Playing at Monument events is always something special. So many people come together with a shared intention of creating something meaningful. At a time when there's so much negativity surrounding events and communities, it gives us hope that we can still create spaces where people feel safe to be themselves, connect with one another and immerse themselves in something we build together.
Of course, it comes with its challenges. We often have less than a day to transform an empty space into a fully functioning event, but experiences like these remind me that, with a dedicated and creative team, it's possible to build something extraordinary. It becomes less about resources and more about the people who are willing to create structure, solve problems, and make it happen.
For this edition, we wanted to invite Cobahn and Scøpe while also continuing Monument's long standing commitment to giving space to emerging artists. Supporting new talent has always been an important part of our identity. It isn't always the easiest path, but we're fortunate to be in a position where we can embrace those challenges and help create opportunities for artists who deserve them.
Some words from the artist -
I wanted to keep people dancing by blending bouncy grooves with straighter, driving tracks.
As the morning sun started pouring onto the dancefloor, I wanted to bring a bit more happiness to the crowd, so I began playing brighter and more danceable tracks. I hope everyone who listens to this recording can feel the atmosphere and energy of that special moment.

Some words from the artist -
This one feels very personal to me. It was one of the most honest techno sets I've played in a long time, bringing together some of the latest music that has been inspiring me the most alongside some of the earliest gems from when I first started playing techno. With the beautiful setting and the incredible dedication of the MONUMENT team, everything came together beautifully once we connected with the audience.
It was Midsummer in Oslo, one of the most beautiful times of the year. I still remember looking out the window during the night and seeing the sky still glowing with light. It made the whole experience feel even more magical.
I'm grateful that this moment can now live on beyond that night. I hope you enjoy the journey.

529th episode of the Monument Podcast Series is brought to you by London-based artist https://soundcloud.com/basicchanel
She describes the mix with a few words:
"Since the warmer months have arrived I’ve been drawn to colour so much more, in both what I’m wearing and the music I’m listening to. This has reflected in the music I’ve been playing and the recent settings I’ve been lucky enough to play in, including the beautiful woodlands of La Nature - one of the most special sets I’ve experienced so far. This session is heavily inspired by that sunrise set, channeling the energy of the summer solstice. Drawn to warmer sounds and brighter synths, this mix reflects these kaleidoscopic feelings that I’ve been experiencing recently."

Lynne is a Japanese, London-based artist whose sound has drifted from its drum & bass roots into more textural, obscure and experimental territory, though those roots always remain at its core. She's most at home in the grey space between genres, where her rhythm becomes a gravitational force pulling dancers in all the right directions.
For Monument she has prepared a presentation that truly showcases her skillset in the field.

Recorded during the closing hour of a night at Garage Noord's BAR40 room, this mix captures the energy of a packed and smoky dancefloor at its peak. Built across three decks, it moves through layered blends, unreleased material, and a selection of tracks that had been waiting for the right moment to be played.
