On May 7th, 2025, the WKCR News Team aired an update on the student protest action in Butler Library including the arrests of 80 protestors.

April 14th, 2025: We aired a segment featuring an interview conducted with a representative of the Columbia University local chapter of the UAW. Recap of the Defend Harlem community clean-up which took place on April 13, 2025 and interviews from members of the organization, and guest speaker, Dapper Dan, an influential member of the Harlem community. Hosted by CJ Gamble and Natalie Lahr.

On March 5th, 2025 we aired live coverage and hourly updates of a sit-in held by Columbia University Apartheid Divest in the Milstein Center for Teaching and Learning. An hour long segment aired later in the evening on March 5th and is available for a more comprehensive recap of the protest.Hosted in-studio by Georgia Dillane, featuring contributions from several of our field reporters.

On April 24, 2025, WKCR aired the first part of a multi-part series on the 1968 protests that took place at Columbia University. This series invites reflection on the protests of 1968 not just as a moment in history but as a powerful lens for interpreting the struggles on Columbia’s campus today. By revisiting the voices, demands, and conflicts of that year we explore their lasting impact on the university's structure and how they can inform our response to the challenges and repression confronting our community this year. March 24th, 2025: We aired a segment featuring a postgame report by WKCR sports reporter Justine Dugger-Ades highlighting the Columbia University Women's Basketball team's final round in this year's NCAA March Madness tournament. There is a preview of the New York Yankees newest editions to the concessions line up this season by Schuyler Rabbin-Birnbaum. News reporter, Sawyer Huckabee, analyzes the response of Columbia administration and implications of the new campus policies that have arose due to pressure from the federal government. WKCR and SIPA alum Dan McSweeney conducts an interview with independent stone carver and lifelong Morningside Heights resident Chris Pellettieri for this month's edition of Morningside Now. March 17th, 2025: We aired an overview dedicated to the events that have occurred on the Columbia Morningside Heights campus alongside Barnard College's campus in the past two weeks. This includes a recap of the walkout hosted on March 14th and notable topics of discussion during the University Senate's most recent town hall meeting. Hosted by CJ Gamble and Natalie Lahr.

On March 12, 2025, we aired an update on the abduction of Mahmoud Khalil by ICE and the subsequent community response from Columbia University students, faculty, and administrators.

On March 5, 2025, we aired a comprehensive update on the sit-in at Barnard College’s Milstein Library and the arrests of nine students that followed. 

March 3, 2025: We aired a recent roundtable discussion between members of NYC for Abortion Rights and the Reproductive Justice Collective which is housed at Barnard College and Columbia University. Includes a clip of March 2nd's protest coverage recap which recounts the events of the Milbank Hall sit-in (Feb. 26th) and the Picket Line (Feb. 27th) which took place outside the gates of Barnard College.
