Our kids love to call our name all day. They love to break yesterdays record on how many times they called your name. Yet they hate when you talk to them or ask them things. You are always wanting to just have one moment of peace. Also you might find yourself listening to them and not really understanding what they are saying or have any clue as to what was said. This has to stop! We have to communicate better with our kids because it is the key to a great relationship with them, getting to know them, and letting them know their voice matters. We often get caught up in saying "what I say goes, or you are the kid you listen, or did I ask you that". I don't believe this is the proper way to parent. So the next couple of episodes will be light conversations on communicating with our kids and ways to get to know them. How to choose which battle to fight in parenting can be difficult. Picking your battles is insane because we are the adults. They are the kids. Therefore they should just listen to us! Dating is already so difficulty. So being a mom is so had too. Yet when we try to wear both hats at the same time it could leave you with gray hair so I wouldn't advise you to do it unless you have a ton of money to see your hair dresser on a weekly basis. Your mind is such a powerful thing.
