How are you going to show up and schedule time for those things or people you just identified you are grateful for? I know there are mundane things we have to do, but I bet those things have at least some importance. When I say schedule time for what’s important, I mean, relationships, self-care, family and/or work. We all have 168 hours each week. If you want to be a doer in all the things that are important, and you have even an ounce of faith or belief in doing those things, you have to develop the mindset of I am reclaiming my time! So getting back into a routine after kind of being all over the place in the last couple of years it seems can be a daunting challenge. It doesn’t have to be. If you had children out of school in the last year and now they are back in school, not only do you have to get back on track of a schedule but they do too, which can cause some push back. Key TakeawaysSet a bedtime alarm on your phone. Create the time you will wind down, and the time you will wake. Give yourself at least 7-8 hours of sleep. That's great self care. I don't encourage anything less. If you want to hear more about why sleep is important go back to episode 22 with Nisha Kunder about integrating wellness into your routine. I’ll link it in the show notes for you. Next, communicate with your family when you are not available, meaning no phone calls after your routine has started, bedtime set for kids, when electronics are off, etc. Let everyone know the expected wake up time and departure time if they are leaving the house. If your children stay home, determine what time is focused. Give yourself a set block of when the child drop off is , school bus pick up, ECT. I want to leave you with a recommended book. Atomic Habits by James Clear. (affiliate link to my bookshop, supporting local bookstores at no additional cost to you). It’s one of my favorites and if you are like me and like to establish healthy habits and routines, this is the book for you my friend.Support the show (https://www.buymeacoffee.com/QuinnM)

So today in this episode, I want to teach you my planning strategy for a month at a time. If you get excited about planning, like me, you may have your own strategy and think, oh, man, another strategy from someone else. But I tell you what, I'm going to make this as easy as possible. You may want to incorporate some of this in your own planning strategy. But if you are not a planner, or you are thinking how can I be excited about writing down a to do list? Here's the thing. planning our goals are not just another thing on your to do list. Having a defined plan decreases, overwhelmed. Who doesn't want that? Let me tell you, if I don't write things down, it's not going to happen. And when you ask me later, I'm going to tell you, it didn't happen because I didn't write it down. Start by planning out your month by doing a brain dump for five to 10 minutes out of that brain dump. What is the priority? Set those priorities as your top three for the month, break them down into goals for the week. Then each day, break down even further to the top three goals for the day. Keep the month, week and day aligned. So you are adding random things. Your day should set up your week for success. Your week should set up your month, and by the next month, you have crossed off so many things, and you can start planning again and hopefully knock out your annual goals. Planning your month can be simplified to decrease your overwhelm. Don't overcomplicate my friend. We don't need a planning strategy to add chaos. But instead, get our mom brains in order. Please hit the follow on subscribe button. And if you can take a minute to write and review the show it would mean the world to me. Let's reach more women in the arena with us. Once a single mom to three, and now a married woman with seven, crazy, right? I had a well life vision. years ago, I figured I would stay single and raise great humans, I would graduate college, finally, get my kids through school and find a great job. We were going to move to Georgia, where there were more opportunities for professional black women. And my kids will be in community with family that we have in Georgia, new friends, people who look like them. And of course, they will go to historically black colleges and universities. I mean, that was my dream. So Boy, that vision has changed some.So in this episode, we are going to explore creating a well life vision for your family. Well, my vision is just that creating a plan of where your family is headed in the steps to get there. Think of it as the roadmap and here are the steps: Why did we start a family? If you're a single parent? Why did I start a family? What does life look like for myself in my family in the next 10 years? What qualities does your family want to see in the best life possible and the next 10 years? What roadblocks may occur. What is our well life vision statement? So I would love to hear all about your family statements and how the family activity went. So come into the Facebook group and share with me and others. If you want to take a pic of your family do it activity and tag me on Instagram at Quinn_Brown. I would love to see it. Make this a fun thing and spend intentional time with the ones you love. On this episode I had the pleasure of speaking to Nisha Kunder who is full of insight and wisdom in integrating wellness into our routines. Nisha helps high performers develop more energy, patience, and compassion in their personal and professional lives through mindfulness practices. She is also the creator of The Art of Relaxation online course where she teaches the ancient yogic relaxation technique of Yoga Nidra (which is a meditation practice that is done *lying* down). Nisha and I talk about the importance of sleep hygiene, having a morning ritual and an evening ritual. Stay until the end to hear Nisha's own personal evening routine that we can all take notes on.You will also hear about two different journaling practices, one that I use and teach The Momma's Morning Cup Virtual Community and what Nisha describes as her go to journaling practice, Bullet Journaling. To start your own journaling practice that you heard mentioned in the show, check out my FREE 30 Days of Journal Prompts. Click Here To Download. Hear how this momma pivoted her career and listened to her own body and used her own techniques for self healing. Before becoming a yoga and wellness coach, Nisha used to work as a Technical Program manager at tech giants like Microsoft and Motorola. She left her unsatisfactory job to heal her health issues caused by stress. Coming from a culture that believes in curing the rootcause instead of merely masking the symptom, she began her healing journey by changing her lifestyle to include more self-care, self-inquiry, and energy healing – in short, Yoga and Ayurveda.Amazed by how simple tools had such profound effects she began sharing them with other busy people. Leveraging her leadership and mentoring skills from her corporate days, integrative wellness coaching, and yoga teacher training she simplifies and customizes ancient yogic tools to help her students and coaching clients create better work-life balance. To connect with Nisha; https://[email protected]/nishakunderwellnessLinkedIn.com/nishakunderhttps://www.instagram.com/nishakunderwellness/ Also Mentioned on this episode "3 mindfulness tools that can help you relax your mind and help you sleep better: https://nishakunder.com/bettersleeptools/Instacart - Groceries delivered in as little as 1 hour. I had the pleasure of interviewing up and coming Financial Literacy coach Jamie Trull. Our conversation was very insightful as I have been watching Jamie's journey for the last 2 years give or take. Jamie Trull is a Financial Literacy Coach and Profit Strategist who helps business owners understand the finance side of their business so that they can make and KEEP more money.Prior to becoming an online entrepreneur, Jamie spent her career rising in the ranks of Finance Leadership in the Coca-Cola System. After leaving the Corporate world in search of a more balanced and fulfilling life, Jamie leveraged her background and her CPA designation to serve women-owned businesses as a Virtual CFO. Recognizing that there was a lack of truly accessible and understandable financial education resources for small business owners, Jamie pivoted her business toward creating resources to help fill that gap and impact more people. Today Jamie has helped thousands of business owners feel more confident about their finances through her resources and programs. As you will hear in this episode, I have nothing but appreciation and respect for the mission that Jamie has set out on to educate women business owners and how she saved myself and several thousand other women financially during the covid-19 pandemic. She continues to inspire and teach online financial literacy to those of us who have side hustles, full-time businesses and also connecting women to other women in the finance space who may not have a business and are looking for personal finance tips and strategies. I do want to apologize for my side of the conversation because it seems that I was having some internet connection issues that I didn’t realize until after we recorded our conversation and that’s okay because I promised you this show is real life and that’s what you get with me!
