Challenge this, sprint that — everyone tells you to lock in for 7 days, 12 weeks, or 1 year, but very rarely do they include instructions on how to prepare.I’m obsessed with structured, time-bound challenges; I’ve been doing them since I was a kid (that’s how I accidentally became a vegetarian 17 years ago — after a 2-week no-meat challenge, I just couldn’t go back). Now many people can love challenges but not many can finish them as often as I do. One of my tricks of the trade is a test run. This is a period of time before the “official” challenge begins. I do my best to complete everything as planned and make adjustments while observing my shortcomings so I can design a challenge that’ll be realistic for me. Test runs are how I set myself up for success instead of setting myself up to be disappointed. In this episode, I break down how to set up a test run and an easy tracking system. Listen now so you’ll be ready to go when it’s time for your next challenge/sprint/75-hard.Enjoy this pod on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and Substack. Last year was all about survival and I’m not gonna lie, it almost took me out. I spent almost all of 2025 grieving while replaying my life’s movie from my mom’s guest room.I cried about people I loved taking advantage of me. I cried because I let them. I cried because I’ve had to work so. hard. in life. And I cried that I’ll never get to hug my baby brother again. When I was done, I was anew. I’m still getting used to who I am now and I know a few of my loved ones are too. Simply put, I’m different.November 2025 to March 2026 was my renaissance after my isolation period. And once again, it was so hard. I mean, exhausting, but this time I had help because I know how to identify my needs now and I know how to ask for help. I told you I’m different!I even got to see a few friends during this renaissance period and meet some really cool strangers along the way.November me was doing whatever she had to do to get out of The US and me now is wrapping up week one of four in a Mexican holistic yoga house, dedicating most of my free time to creating for fun instead of out of obligation. This episode is about what I did to get here.Enjoy this pod on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and Substack. My name is MAY-gen, not Megan, and I’m always going to remind people of it. You’d think since I say it so often that people would naturally say it correctly, but that’s not the case — and that’s okay! Because people make mistakes and I’m patient. I have all the time in the world to help them try, try, and try again. This podcast is dedicated to all of you who feel icky about correcting people when they say your name incorrectly. I’m gonna need you to develop a backbone — and quickly. If they won’t even take the time to say your name right, do you really wanna be around them? Like really?Enjoy this pod on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and Substack. Until the next episode, come play in my world at maeganburke.com

Most of what I know about negotiation I've picked up from my homie Chad while watching him navigate business deals. I came across someone on TikTok raving about Getting to Yes by Roger Fisher & William Ury and I’m really into the book so far.Roger Fisher founded the Harvard Negotiation Project (HNP) in 1979 after encouragement from Ury and then research assistant Bruce Patton. Apparently his eccentric joie de vivre and unique approach to international relations deserved recognition and thus, the HNP was born.I just started the book, but I had to share with you a piece about approaching a negotiation with mutual interests in mind rather than focusing on positions. You can find this pod on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and Substack. Straight from my future maemoirs, here's a storytime about what 27-year-old Maegan was up to in Thailand, in between managing a yoga studio. Here's the TikTok I mention about the first time I...partook in such activities. In hindsight, I've been divinely protected my entire life and I'm kinda happy that I didn't notice. I feel like the weight of that protection would have resulted in an unnecessary self-imposed responsibility to make things "easier" on the divine by not being as reckless as I have been (sorry, Mommy). I'm so grateful that someone, somewhere has kept me safe and exposed me to harm, within reason, for the sake of my growth (and for a binge-worthy autobiography one day). You can find this pod on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and Substack. I’m one of those people who believe that self-employment is safer than being traditionally employed. (I don’t think it’s “easier” though. Choose your hard.)I accidentally fell into self-employment and entrepreneurship in December 2020. I was fresh out of a PTSD diagnosis and had found habit tracking to be pivotal to my recovery. I decided to package my tracking techniques into a workshop, that workshop paid my rent for the next month, and the rest was history. In case you’re considering working for yourself, here are the 5 key lessons that are shaping how I rebuild my consulting career (B2B) and launch new group courses (B2C).You can find this pod on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and Substack. At some point in our lives, we were sold a narrative that in order for relationships to be deemed successful, they’ve gotta last forever, but that can’t be further from the truth. Letting go of people, places, and situations that no longer serve you is the true definition of love.
