I love the dynamic between the three hosts. They each bring such distinct perspectives, but it’s clear they’re all sharp and thoughtful. Listening feels like being part of a lively, honest conversation with friends. They’re funny, candid, and not afraid to dive into topics that often feel taboo. It’s one of my favorite podcasts. A lot of times, I just want something lighthearted and real, and plus, I always come away having learned something new.

Asian Canadian American working first time mom to a 1 y.o. multiracial son in the Midwest. This show has filled a gap for me as I’ve grown into first time motherhood. Thank you, Susan, Jeanette, and Kate, for making this show! There’s nothing else out there like it!

Finding this podcast has filled such an ache/ hole I have in my life struggling with figuring out how to navigate the love I have/ want for my family vs the love I have for myself. I completely stumbled upon this podcast after learning the term “Modern Minority” as well as “Model Minority” and diving into the deep end with therapy, books, looking into all sorts of resources so that I can feel less alone. These three women are the perfect blend of providing empathy that as successful as they are individually, even THEY don’t have it all figured out (for women to feel less alone in their “failures), feel less screwed up if there are others like us, as well as providing it all with a hilarious sense of humor/ sarcasm to make it much more palatable, and sometimes fresh ideas and solutions to open my mind for a different way to handle relationships in my life. Thank you three beautiful angels for taking the previous time out of your most likely INTENSE schedules to make this podcast for us. Ladies, I am telling any and all Asian women, especially all my working mommy friends about you guys— and will spreading the word as much as possible!

As a non-Asian American mom this podcast still resonates deeply with me as I navigate my own journey with motherhood and life. It’s simply great!

I’ve known one of the co-hosts for 20+ years, and this show is so welcoming that it makes me feel like I’ve known the other two for that long as well. For insights into the minds and hearts of the women we are lucky enough to call our friends, peers, and partners, there is no better show.

This last episode about asking for help, and all the complicated emotional stuff around it, just so real and I haven’t heard anyone else talking about this as poignantly as you three. I identify so strongly with your perspectives, I recommend this show to all my mom friends and often post the episodes on social media to let other people know about it bc it’s truly awesome work. Thanks for being vulnerable and being willing to keep the show going, I appreciate every episode you do!

As an Asian American professional working mom this podcast truly speaks to me. But I think they cover so many topics related to the immigrant experience, motherhood, marriage, careers as a woman, etc. that this podcast can speak to a lot women in different situations. What I appreciate most is the thoughtfulness in the discussions. I’m a big fan and hope they keep the episodes coming!

This is a really nuanced show that touches on a lot of top of mind topics related to Asian American motherhood. I found Jeanette to be especially thoughtful, nuanced, and even keeled in her analysis of almost all topics covered in the show, and Susan is a wonderful breath of fresh air (I can’t wait to read her memoir!). The only flag is almost every episode explicitly or implicitly signals the incredible financial privilege some of these women are in, and I wish there’s more of an acknowledgement that this is an outlier is even in the world of Harvard educated Asian American women.

As an Asian American working mom with a graduate degree, this podcast is like… targeted at my very small and specific niche and I love the fact that it exists. But 40+ episodes in, it is hard to ignore how wildly the show sometimes swings between thoughtful, thought provoking discussions of how race and racial generational trauma impact the parenting experience… and sometimes comical displays of wealth and privilege. Like in the episode about having sick kids in the time of Covid, they pose the question, seemingly in complete earnestness, “What did people do in the age before Covid and work from home if a kid got sick?” And the answer of “they took the day off and did not work and lost out on income and this is why a lack of federal policy about sick leave is so detrimental” seems so blindingly obvious and yet goes completely unaddressed, to the point where it feels like a parody of the out-of-touch Ivy Leaguer, and is doubly surprising when the podcast demonstrated the ability to be thoughtful and nuanced about other topics. But that sort of blind spot is probably expected when your premise is predicated on a specific set of life experiences. In general I remain impressed by how willing Susan, Kate, and Jeanette are to be open about their struggles with self worth and how their Asian American experiences impact their lives. While I may marvel at how casually the wealthy can talk about $80 Christmas stockings from Pottery Barn, I remain impressed by their willingness to share their experiences, especially in the face of cultural expectations to not air “familial dirty laundry” in public.

Listening to MMM is one of the highlights of my week. Not only are all three women bright and fierce, they are also hilarious. As a first-generation Chinese American and a new mom, these conversations give me so much food for thought as I try to navigate my way through advancing my career and raising my multi-ethnic daughter. Highly recommended!

As a new mom and fellow immigrant and Harvard grad, I love this podcast! It feels like chatting with your smart, thoughtful girlfriends about the things you really need to talk about but don’t usually discuss directly. It made me feel seen and less alone during my first year of parenthood. Also picked up some valuable new perspectives on partnership, parenting, equity, friendship and identity. Each of the hosts brings a different, awesome flavor to the mix, and they have great rapport. Can’t wait for more!

I don’t even have kids, but take a lot away from this great show that covers themes on relationships, family and carving your own path.

Don’t have kids, might not have them, but my wife and I really enjoy hearing the honesty from these women. Good stories, interesting and informed perspectives, honestly really enjoyable to listen to.

I love how many topics Kate, Susan and Jeannette touch on that so many people often overlook. It’s so refreshing to know that I’m not the only one facing the challenges they talk about, thank you for being so honest and open about sharing!

As someone in the bullseye of this show’s target audience — Asian, female, well-educated, millennial — I find it to be relatable and mostly honest. But I can’t help rolling my eyes when Kate calls herself “upper middle class.” The line between that and the more uncomfortable “rich” always seems to shift so we can self-identify as middle class.

I just had my second child a few weeks ago, and this is the perfect podcast to listen to. Listening to it it feels like catching up with your mom girlfriends who just get it, and can help you process all the crazy highs and lows of working motherhood. I HIGHLY recommend for any new moms, veteran moms, soon to be / considering to become moms, and really anyone who wants to understand why their mom friends have started acting like caged feral cats (wait... is that just me??) 😂

Want to know what’s behind the mystical curtain of motherhood? These ladies tell it all - and don’t hold back. These AAPI voices are also so needed in this day and age - as immigrants, Ivy league educated women in highly successful professional roles in interracial marriages, I have never found anything more relatable. Thank you for shedding the truth on modern motherhood - and for all the laughs and tears to boot.

As someone considering motherhood in the near future, I had been trying to find perspectives that truly felt relatable to me as an Asian woman. I’m a happily childfree woman, but the experience of pregnancy/childbirth/motherhood is fascinating to me, and I love getting the inside scoop on what it’s really like. This show is awesome, needed and deeply fascinating. If you’re considering having kids or know you don’t want to but find the subject interesting, or if you’ve had kids and want to know how other moms are dealing with it, this is a great show for you!
