Tonight we are tasting the 2018 Buena Pinta, Moravia Agria from the La Mancha region in Spain. This is a blend of the dark-colored Moravia and Garnacha. Here is a little fun fact. The word Agria means bitter. See how I upgrade you every week, lol.   This wine boasts a beautiful dark ruby hue and is full of cola, cherries, herbs, and coffee on the nose. You don't get to the Agria part until you taste it. It is a full-bodied wine with a nice long rustic finish. Although the tannins are on the medium side, the acidity is reaching some new heights. Tonight we are tasting the 2019 Passaros from Anselmo Mendes. Loureiro is a white wine grape from Portugal in the Northern region of Portugal.  Here is a fun fact, Portugal has 350 different indigenous wine varietals. Did you know that? I think that is pretty cool. This wine is very zippy, full of mouth-puckering acidity and a freshness that can only be associated with a warm breeze on a summer night. What I love about this wine is that there are no tannins in this wine. Can you imagine tannins on top of that acidity in white wine? Ain't nobody got time for that. This is a very young, light-bodied wine that I can only see being paired with Sushi or some sort of fish dish. I love the light lemon hue of the wine and it has just the right amount of length on the finish. Just beautiful at a price point of around $14 or so. Don't miss the opportunity to try this wine. I am not in love with sweet wines, but I can respect them. And so I am learning just like you are this is my first time having Dornfelder. So let's get into it, it's, it's so like I said the color is gorgeous. Just seems really deep, dark red grape, but it's like inky purple like almost bordering like if wine could be black, it probably would be black. But, um, yeah. You know I tried to give it a lot of air because I wasn't, I didn't know what to expect so I was trying to give it a lot of air. So, but the color I mean, I just love it you know purple is my favorite color so I'm down with anything that has any type of purple in it but it's a, it's a clear wine it's really the colors just intense, intense purple. So let's get into the nose because the nose, always knows  So, it tastes like a fruitcake, in a glass, that's what it tastes like. It's not as sweet as ice mine but it is a sweet wine and I know, tons of people. Tons of people that adore sweet wines, and, ladies and gentlemen, if you are listening this evening. You might want to get into this Dornfelder, it is right up your alley. In tonight's show, we are tasting Alicante Bouchet which is originally from the Languedoc- Roussillon region in France. Henri Bouchet planted the grape in the mid-1800s and comes from the red-fleshed Teinturier grape variety. It has also found great success in Spain and Portugal. Teinturier literally means “dry” and is a cross between Petit Bouchet and Grenache. We are having the 2017 Coelheiros from Portugal. It boasts a beautiful deep purple hue with an intense nose of black fruits, olives, and chocolate with a spicy finish. It is a bold wine that has 14% alcohol and should be prepared with a hearty vegetarian meal and grains or. Perhaps some lamb or BBQ. This will be one of the times where you can definitely break out your finest decanter and let it breathe for 30 or so minutes. On this day, last year, I was actually in Sicily and most likely drinking a glass of Nero D'Avola, the star of the show today.  Tonight we are tasting the 2016 International Eastern Wine Competition's Silver Award-winning wine from Villa Amoroso. Villa Amoroso is located in Tuscany but the grapes are from Sicily. Nero D'Avola is the most widely grown grape in Sicily which has an IGT classification, which stands for Indicazione Geografica Tipica. It is the 3rd classification out of 4 of the Italian government wine distinctions. This is not a wine that likes to be alone. Bobal is primarily grown to produce bulk wine for mass production or used a the base wine for red blends in Spain. Bobal is the 3rd largest grape grown in the Valencia, Jumilla, Yecla, and Manchuela regions.  It is a medium-bodied, lightweight, dry wine with light to medium acidity and it is totally ok to keep this served chilled. On the nose, you can smell black cherries and tea leaves, and oregano. The alcohol content is are 12.5%.  In the world of wine, that is light work. Tonight to cap off this season, we are tasting the 2019 Barista Pinotage from South Africa. This wine has more tannins than a little bit with medium acidity,  I love how it just coats your tongue and sits with you for a nice long finish. This wine is a little chewy but I am here for it. Tonight we are tasting a 2014 Riserva from Carignano Del Slucis Carignano is an ancient grape varietal from Sardina, Italy. Del Sulcis is the southernmost tip of Sardinia. It is a little spicey, a little vegetal and a little dirty.  Almost like a Dirty Martini but in wine form.  Here is a little fun fact for you,  in order for a wine to be designated as Riserva in Sardinia, The DOCG mandates that Carignano must be blended with  Cannonau, a.k.a.
