This is the first increase in poverty after five consecutive annual declines, according to the latest Poverty and Income U.S. Census Report. The most significant data is that in 2020, there were 37.2 million people in poverty, approximately 3.3 million more than in 2019. Since April 28 the Colombian people are protesting against a new tributary law made by Ivan Duque’s government. The law raised taxes for low and medium-wages.
