In this week’s long-form episode of Mining Stock Daily, Trevor Hall is joined by Jared Dillian of The Daily Dirtnap and Chris Berry of House Mountain Partners and The Power Current.Jared discusses his new book, The Awesome Portfolio, and why he believes investors are taking far too much risk by concentrating their wealth in equities. He lays out his approach to building a lower-volatility portfolio across stocks, bonds, gold, real estate and cash—and explains why he believes gold deserves a 20% allocation. Jared also weighs in on the recent move in gold, the outlook for interest rates and bonds, AI-driven capital spending, and what could surprise markets this fall.In the second half, Chris Berry joins Trevor to break down the billions of dollars in new U.S. government support for critical minerals following a White House mining roundtable. They discuss where the capital is going, the growing role of government equity and conditional loans, whether Wall Street will follow Washington into mining, and why midstream processing remains one of the biggest missing pieces of the Western critical-minerals strategy. They also examine price floors, vertical integration, investment in U.S. mining schools, and whether today's critical-minerals policies can survive a change in political leadership.Pre-order Jared Dillian’s new book, The Awesome Portfolio:https://www.amazon.com/Awesome-Portfolio-stress-free-approach-investing/dp/1804094099______Terrahutton empowers junior mining companies to secure investment with immersive, interactive, and visually striking storytelling. Magna Mining CEO Jason Jessup joins Mining Stock Daily to break down a landmark Q2 2026. It was a quarter that saw the company swing from nearly $20 million in the red to positive free cash flow, driven by record tonnage, strong grades, and disciplined cost control at McCreedy West. Jason digs into the exciting R2 Footwall Zone discovery at Levack, where the advancing 2950 Level drift is now within striking distance of what he calls the most exciting exploration target in the company's portfolio, with early mining potentially beginning as early as Q1 2027. He also addresses the higher treatment and refining charges in the quarter, explaining a retroactive contract adjustment with Vale that he expects to normalize — and provide a net benefit — going forward.

Vizsla Copper provides an exploration update from its 2026 diamond drill program at the Palmer VMS project in Alaska. CEO Craig Parry was interviewed by Mining Stock Daily. The 2026 program is advancing on schedule with two diamond drill rigs currently operating. Initial drilling has intersected thick intervals of semi-massive and massive sulphide mineralization within the South Wall Zone, while continuing to refine the company's understanding of the geological and structural controls on mineralization. Assay results from the initial drill holes are pending. At its Thira discovery in central B.C., the company drilled 304.8 metres of 0.48% CuEq. Parry said the second drill program at the Poplar Project has significantly advanced the company's understanding of the system at the Thira target, where the team is working to define a large-scale copper porphyry system.
