Hello, and welcome to episode two of ‘I’ll do it tomorrow, (maybe)’ I still can't believe that I'm actually recording the second episode of my podcast, for me to finally make the decision to get out of my own way to really take myself out of my comfort zone.
This episode is about how just showing an interest can move you forward, even when you feel the fear.
In one of the local Facebook groups, they were asking for new members to come and join a rounders team, at school I loved rounders, and in my late 20s I set up a rounders group where I worked, we had so much fun. I thought I really want to do this.
it took me two hours on that evening, I kept scrolling past it, then I'd go back to it and I'd scroll again. I'd read to see if anybody else had commented that they'd like to join and people were saying yeah, I'd love to and could you send me some more details and I’d click on the comment box.
I couldn’t comment.
The feeling inside me was a feeling of being physically sick.
Eventually I did comment. ‘I’m interested, please send me more details’
It's a massive big thing to make a decision. So just like making a decision after months and months and months to actually put this podcast out there.
This is the second decision I've made in less than a week.
And I've committed to turning up and being part of a Rounders team.
To make it easier on myself, beforehand I will have everything clear in my mind and be prepared.
If there’s something you really want to do. Take that first initial step and just put in that comment box. ‘Yes, I'm interested’.
Because once they come back to you, you'll find that they're quite friendly, and it may not be as scary as you think.
Thank you for listening. I've really enjoyed recording this episode.
Apologies for the phone going off. I'm not going to re-record it because it's life.
