Suchir Balaji was an extremely bright young software engineer. Straight out of college, he joined OpenAI and wrote some of the original code responsible for ChatGPT. However, as the company enjoyed success and massive press coverage, Suchir became concerned about some of its practices regarding plagiarism. After he left the company, Suchir became a whistleblower and joined a massive lawsuit against the company. As his fame grew, Suchir’s family was shocked to find him dead in his apartment in an apparent suicide. But, due to his high-profile nature as a whistleblower, his family and many others online have asked the question: Was Suchir murdered?
