Answer to one of your questions
Mike,
Love your show.
You frequently ask guest who served if they were ever given the “big picture” by their superiors.
Saw the following portion in a book I’m reading:
“The common fighter could only know his immediate goal in the battle. He could not be privy to the bigger picture plans of kings and generals. It would be too much upon him, and would jeopardize the mission if discovered by the enemy. The common fighter had to trust that however wrong a command may appear to be in the immediate, in the long term strategy, it may actually have the opposite meaning or result.”

Ads
Great host, the ad frequency is insufferable and breaking the interviews into 3 parts is not a good format.
Bad dude36
3 parts
Why not release your episodes in one episode? This multi part episodes is annoying. I love the show and love the guests you have but this isn’t a television series.

More ads than content
I have been with you from the beginning. But your new format breaking up interviews in 3 parts, with easily a third of each hour being commercials is more than im willing to give any more of my time too. I spend more time fast forwarding through your repetitive ads than i do listening to the content of your otherwise great interviews. Its clear your priority is making money through advertising over providing your listeners a great experience as you had in the past. I understand this is a business for you, but when your audience is no longer the priority, then your business will suffer. Good luck to you.

Longtime Favorite Podcast
I have been listening to Mike Drop for at least three years. It has been, and remains, a consistently superb podcast. It is perhaps my favorite.
Mike Ritland is a talented host and his guests are uniformly fascinating and interesting. I especially enjoy the long-form, deep interviews.

Commercials
Good podcast but way too many commercials. I understand that it is a business and one can pay to not have commercials but not that necessary to listen. Not throwing stones, good content but a lot of commercials. I do wish you luck with the podcast.

Love the content but too many ad reads
I think there could be quicker or less ad reads. Maybe instead of three parts read your ads between parts and make a full podcast. Enjoy your shows and thank you for dedicated service.

I don’t typically leave a ton of reviews. Not because I don’t have them to leave, but never get around to reducing them to writing. I’ve listened to a ton of military podcasts in the last 8 years or so and a number of MAC-V-SOG guys. Travis Mills might be my favorite one. The context, vernacular, depth and comparisons with his dialogue were exceptional. Mad respect for all vets but as we all know, these MAC-V-SOG guys were a special breed. 🫡

I always make time for some Mike Drop!
This is very different from the other podcasts I listen to but I’m never disappointed with the content and guests. Great job, Mike! I have a number of favorites interviews but most recently, Michael Durant and then Cody Lundin. Excellent. 6-16-22: Great interview with Kelsi! Riveting story. It’s one thing to hear similar from the guys but from a female perspective it was a little tough. I’ve got daughters and pray that they never have to go through something like like, well anyone for that matter. Hang in there Kelsi. Salute! 9-12-22: I just listened to the interview with Bruce Sackman. Fascinating stuff, but scary. I work in the Air Ambulance industry and my Medical crews have some pretty wild stories from their times in the hospitals and/ambulances. We sometimes feel like we fly people away from certain death simply by getting them out of a specific hospital or away from certain medical staff. After hearing Bruce’s stories, now I really wonder. 10-24-22: I just finished the interview with Kyle Carpenter. Great interview! Mike does a very good job of getting the interviewees to open up and speak, without a lot of interjection. Kyle is such a smooth and calm speaker. It was a pleasure to listen to all 4+ hours. 11-30-22: Fantastic interview with Jeff Struecker! Black Hawk Down has a lot of personal meaning to me and it was fascinating to here yet another in-depth piece of it from another person. Keep up the great work! 7-30-23: Fantastic interview with Remi Adeleke! Man, that guy’s got energy! I’m excited for him and for all of us to be able to see/read his work in the future. Now I’ve got to back up a few years and listen to his previous 2 interviews. More great work, Mike!
6-18-24 Zach Ferguson: (Deep sigh…) Wow, that was some heavy stuff. As I get older I seem to get more and more empathetic. Man, I popped a few tears while mowing my lawn and listening. I would think it would have been much worse if I had been watching this episode. The Lord puts us through trials, but apparently some people get the more difficult ones. I really admire Zach’s character and ability to adapt and overcome. Keep hanging in there, and I pray that you can bring healing to the remainder of your family. I have a Disabled Veteran Brother-In-Law that I really think could benefit from psychedelics, but so far has been very resistant. I keep sharing episodes with him but I don’t know if he listens. The more I hear about them and the “miracles” they seem to do for people, the more I hope the people that could benefit from them will try. I want him to be an Enabled Veteran, and a pillar for his family. Thank you Zach, and Mike for all the great work that are doing.
2025: Great interview with Bill 'Hawk' Albracht! What a fun guy to listen to!
5-0-26: Travis Mills was an excellent guest! You’re doing us all a great service Mike by getting folks like him on. I hung on every word. Salute! 🫡

What Happened to Full Episodes?
I’ve been a Mike Drop fan from the get-go and have loved his guests, topics and interview structure, but man, the commercials are getting more frequent and excessively long.
I’m also not a fan of the Part I, Part 2, Part 3, etc. episodes - I miss the days when Mike Drop interviews were released in-full vs. breaking them apart in 1.5 hour increments.
I realize commercials pay the bills for a free podcast, but I just feel they’re getting way too frequent.
Still a big fan of the show - I’d love to see more dog-related episodes!

Conspiracy theory nut job
This guy platforms people who are very anti western pro Islamist in many ways and he seems to blame Israel for literally everything wrong in the world. Would be nice to have another perspective

Great
Great show, great discussion.

Mike should choke himself for what the show has become.
I like the older long form episodes better. The ad frequency is so bad now that you get 2-3 ads for every 5 min of interview. It’s mikes show he can do what he wants but I’m done listening for a while as it’s not worth suffering the ads for a few minutes of what I want to listen to.

Here’s The Deal
Stop platforming anti-American Islamists (#266). Nidal Hasan wore a uniform too. Personal stories are great! BUT Mike only has an elementary understanding of politics, government, history and economics. So he is woefully out of his depth when commenting on any of those subjects. He should stick to the stories like he used to. Unfortunately Mike has become a Tucker Carlson puppet instead of doing his own scholarship. Instead of bashing the Trump admin, talk about EPIC City being built in your backyard.

Great podcast
Amazing content, my complaint is that the interviews are broke up into parts. Podcast seem to have more ads than interview.

Crenshaw
I thought this was a very good podcast. I like Crenshaw and I agree with his politics. Politics and policy is all very delicate work. And delicate does not make for good clickbait. Crenshaw had reasonable explanations for all the allegations. Better than just loud mouth rhetoric.

Sean Who?
Mike, you have such an even keeled approach based on obvious preparation. Keep on cranking out the quality conversations. You are top notch sir.

Crenshaw
I have never seen anyone interview a politician like this before. If this three part episode is as Metaphorical sword fight, Mike is just standing there. Diaper Dan is running around him and getting cut up with every stupid word that comes out of his pompous mouth. 😂😂😂
Dangerous Peasant
Must Listen Podcast.
Concerning Crenshaw, he most often sounds like an arrogant narcissist.
So many excuses and playing dumb.
I really hope he is replaced by a more humble and competent person.

Love This Podcast and Program
I listen every week and look forward to the new episode release. Mike is a really good interviewer and well versed on a wide range of topics. It’s not just a Navy Seal podcast. It’s so much more. Thank you for publishing this platform.

If he met a god, it was the prince of the air, not the one true living God.
As a 150lb man who consumes and have been consuming 5-6grams in a regularly and who frequently consumes upwards of 10-12 grams, I can say without any shadow of a doubt, he’s plagerizing stories he’s heard from others; which were also made up fictional tales. He learned his experience inside an echo chamber of people trying to one up one another.
He’s also spreading a false gospel taught to him by Satan himself. Don’t need mushrooms to tell you that, open the bible and read it.
He saw exactly what he primed himself to see. This has nothing to do with him being a shooter and a pipe hitter. He should stick to that.
I’d gladly take this debate at anytime. Infact, I’d gladly take double his “ hero” dose (publicly)with him and see how it goes. Nothing he said isn’t widely available, both dosage information and the story he tells, on any website pertaining to shrooms and their effects.

Alan Shebaro
Thanks so much for having him on the show. I worked in the West Bank for 3 months trying to get perspective on the conflict. I worked as a journalist and traveled top to bottom. I went to settlements hot got detained. I toured through Hebron and had stones thrown at me by Jewish settler kids. I interviewed soldiers. I investigated a bombing by Israeli settlers into a village near Nablus. I was shot at, tear gassed, chased by IDF. I was in a village under siege for 1 week hiding with families as the only westerner documenting the hostilities. He is so right on, on so many points. It’s so hard to hear an intelligent interview with actual experience in the West Bank. People are scared to go there. It’s highly accessible. I’ll tell you this, if you think one side is right or wrong then you are wrong. Both sides have blame but at the end of the day Israel will and is trying to run all Palestinians right out of the country and have had a systematic approach of manufacturing instability in the region. Much more to say but thanks for putting him on.

Great show. Unique opinions
Very happy with this show and Mike’s views. His wide ranging interviewees provide unique opinions with varied insights and specific perspectives. I don’t disagree with them all, and I wish he would pushback on Alan Shebaro’s one sided, woefully uninformed and sadly ignorant stance on the bombings that ended WW2, I appreciate that he lets his guests speak their minds. I’d like to hear him challenge guests more but perhaps his style isn’t to shut anyone down to stifle their train of thought. Shebaro’s lack of understanding of the resolve of the Japanese, even after henadmits he’s read nothing from their side to substantiate his claims, seems like an open door for Mike to push reality back into his guest’s POV. That said from my small misshaped soap box , Mike is a true American hero and this podcast is rewarding and well worth your time and support

Guitar
I suspected that you played guitar. The opening music is that you playing guitar if so what device or foot switch do you use to get that squeak sound. I’ve been playing guitar since 1974 and can’t figure it out how to get that effect.

Episode 255
I really wanted to listen to the show. I really did. The show was laden with commercials every minute or so that it made it really hard to listen. The commercials would cut in mid sentence then would last longer than when the guest was speaking. I was done trying to listen 5-7 mins into the podcast.
