However, despite this, on our latest episode we delve into the inner recesses of our love for video games and discuss what kind of game we would LOVE to make. Whether you love it or hate it, live action adaptations of video games are going to be the future. 2022 was a weird year for sure. Not only did we play a lot of video games, we also talk about video games a ton. So much in fact, that we decided to make a podcast where we share those conversations! This week on Ditty & The Panda we talk about something near and dear to our hearts, Women in Video Games! Panda is the loud and proud girl dad and Ditty is the typical mommy's boy, so we have a lot of love for the women who make our lives possible. We discuss some of the stereotypes of the past and what developers are doing today to share stories of empowering female characters that appeal to a much broader audience.  We are not a political podcast, we are simply nerds who are thrilled that representation of other communities is finally among us in the gaming community. 

So what makes a good video game ending?  We've all played through an epic story, only to have it culminate in an ending that was not as great as the one we expected. On this episode, Ditty and the Panda take a look at the trade-offs between a good story and bad ending vs. a bad story and great ending. While sometimes it can be hard just to get through some games because of their terrible stories, we do realize that good stories do really make for better endings, but there are some times where the opposite happens. The guys talk about why they feel this is so and also discuss how player choice is a game changer (pun definitely intended) in creating replayability and how it can impact endings.

If you haven't noticed by now, we're suckers for a good story. So, we thought, this week we should talk about what makes a good story based game. Is it the characters, the dialogue, the music, heck, is it the fact that the devs just throw you into the story and let you figure it out on your own, or that they hold your hand and explain to you everything that's going on?!  This could've easily been a 3hr episode, but to save your ears, we kept it short and sweet.
