<p>Con (known as Cob) was a big tough man. Everyone knew that, but no one outside the family knew he was soft too, though. He got softer and softer as he grew older. Probably watching Judge Judy on the telly with a bag of cans is what done it for him. He was better than anyone at buying drink and shoplifting.</p>

Mickey is the type of person you would cross the road to avoid. He is a selfish, drug-addict thief, only a mother could love. If his mother could love. Older brother, Cillian, has prepared Mickey for life on the streets of Cork City, Ireland, teaching him fine skills such as burglary, shoplifting, how to drink and do drugs. Cillian has also carried the weight heaped-on by their domineering drug-lord mother.
But as Cillian grows, he decides he must escape this toxic existence, which is when Mickey’s life begins to spin out of control.
