The MAP boys sit down with Dr. Robert Troutwine, who is the developer of his namesake assessment – the Troutwine Athletic Profile – known more commonly as “TAP” – it is an athletic assessment that measures the mental intangibles important for success in sports. He has over 30 years of experience working primarily as a research and development psychological scientist with pro sports organizations – the military – corporations – law firms. You may have heard of some of his clients – the NE Patriots, Ford, Sprint and the US Navy Seals to name a few. He is best known for his work in sports – he coached football in the early 80’s before he was hired by the Kansas City Chiefs in 1984. Paul worked as the resident speaker and camp director of the Yogi Berra Museum for 15 years. His signature program, The 90MPH Club, is the best selling pitching program of all time. Episode 77: "The ABCs of Excellence", Jack Leggett, Hall of Fame Baseball Coach
The MAP boys sit down with legendary baseball coach, Jack Leggett, to talk about his book, "The ABCs of Excellence." Coach Leggett began his coaching career in 1978 at the University of Vermont. In 1983, he took the head coaching job at Western Carolina and led them to five NCAA Regional appearances in 9 years. He later took over the program at Clemson University and built one of the most successful programs in college baseball. His Clemson teams appeared in 21 NCAA Regionals, 9 NCAA Super-Regionals and took 6 trips to Omaha for the College World Series. Not to mention the numerous coaches who worked for him and now have created their own successful programs (Tim Corbin, Kevin O'Sullivan, John Pawlowski, Erik Bakich)Coach Leggett talked to the boys about the lessons he learned along the way and the importance of developing a culture of clear expectations, discipline and accountability. He shares his thoughts on youth sports and young athletes specializing in sports too early.
