TOXIC RELATIONSHIPS
Have you heard about the story of Keisha Golden? She is a young pregnant woman out of Chicago who fatally stabbed her boyfriend just hours after celebrating at their babyshower. They're reporting that the dispute started over leftover food; but it's definitely more to it than that. We are sharing our thoughts and opinions on the matter and would like to hear what you think about the story as well. Clearly the relationship was toxic. With all the signs evident, why would anyone want to coexist in this type of relationship? Why were micro behaviors ignored as I am sure they were there? Let's get a dialogue going. Also, don't forget to hit the thumbs up; it helps to push our content out there; and if you're not already following, and you enjoy this type of content, please consider following the podcast. What Happened to Pieper Lewis?
The Pieper Lewis story is so disturbing. Have you been following it? What are your thoughts on how the Justice System handled this case? I'd love to start a dialogue on this. Please share as these stories need to be heard.   #melanin #crimestory #justiceforpieper  Who is Pieper Lewis?   A teenager who drew national attention after being charged with killing her rapist has escaped an Iowa Department of Corrections facility, according to officials.   Pieper Lewis was listed as escaped from a women’s residential facility in Des Moines by the Iowa DOC, which was confirmed by television station KCCI. According to court documents, Lewis allegedly exited the facility at around 6:19 a.m., with an officer observing her leaving after alarms went off. The filing also said that Lewis cut her required GPS-enabled tracking device in her room before escaping.   Lewis, now 18, admitted to killing Zachary Brooks, 37, in Des Moines when she was 15 years old. She told the court she was 15 when she said she ran away from home three times to get away from an abusive home. She said a man brought her into his home. That’s where she was introduced to Brooks. She said Brooks gave her drugs and alcohol and raped her.   A motion filed in Polk County District Court said that Lewis was in violation of her probation due to the escape and alleged incidents where she was determined to be “out of place.” It also requested a warrant for her arrest.   Sources:  Pea's in Their Pods  News APP  Fox 26   COPYRIGHT DISCLAIMER  Copyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for fair use for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research. Black hair; brown eyes.  Dentals: X-rays Available  Circumstances of Disappearance  Pleasant was last seen in Spokane, Washington on October 1, 1992. She was a prostitute and drug addict at the time of her disappearance. Roseann was the mother of Valiree Brianne Jackson who went missing on October 18, 1999. Her father, a truck driver named William Bradley "Brad" Jackson, said she vanished that morning from the front yard of her grandparents' home before her classes at McDonald Elementary School.  Brad became a suspect early on after police found Valiree's blood on her bedclothes and on Brad's shoes. Some of Brad's pubic hair was also found in Valiree's bed. Police put a global positioning system transmitter on Brad's truck so they could track its movements. The truck visited two fresh gravesites after Valiree's disappearance. One in Spokane Valley was empty but the other would prove to hold her body. It was recovered, wrapped in garbage bags and buried in Stevens County, on November 15.  When confronted with the evidence, Brad admitted to burying Valiree but not to killing her. He said she died of an accidental overdose of the antidepressant drug Paxil which had been prescribed for her and he panicked when he found her body. Police charged him with second-degree murder, and later upgraded the charge to first-degree. At Brad's trial, his defense attorney argued that Valiree died from the overdose while the prosecution said Brad had smothered Valiree either because she was going to report that he was sexually abusing her, or because she did not get along with his girlfriend. He was convicted of killing his daughter on October 5, 2000 and sentenced to fifty-six years in prison.  Brad is also considered a possible suspect in the 1992 disappearance of Valiree's mother, Roseann Stone Pleasant. She has never been found and he has not been charged in connection with her disappearance. Valiree's uncle and Peasant's sister, has spearheaded the Valiree Jackson Act which would impose stricter penalties for the murder of children.   Investigators If you have any information concerning this case, please contact:   Spokane Police Department 509-477-5980  Agency Case Number: 920807541
