Once a month, the Melanated MIllennial brand highlights one Melanated Millennial that is actively pursuing their passion!
I thoroughly enjoyed interviewing this month's Melanated Millennial Spotlight, Tonisha Glover. She is a Mother, Daughter, Poet turned Author who prefers to go by the name NeeNee Marie.
NeeNee Marie is in the process of self-publishing her first book, titled Tears of a Hummingbird. The story depicts the life experience of a woman entangled in an abusive relationship. Whether you've witnessed it or had your suspicions, we have to face the fact that domestic violence is still a prevalent issue today. On average, nearly 20 people per minute are victims of physical violence by an intimate partner in the United States (projectsanctuary.org ). NeeNee Marie wants the audience to be moved while experiencing the lows and the highs of this of the main character, Symone. Tears of a Hummingbird is scheduled to release in 2021.
We also delve into NeeNee's writing process, dissecting her rendition of Who Am I, and the adventure that helped her find her voice.
