Meditation in Quarantine
Meditation in Quarantine

This podcast used to be recorded on my drives into and from work, but now, it's being recorded at home, like all of you. This is it place more concerned with how something is said rather than what is being said. These will be off the top ramblings or prepared speeches. Topics will jump around, but the most important thing is bringing awareness and lessening the stigma of stutterers in this increasingly important realm of voice. Snipit 111: Authenticity
It's far too easy for our egos to project into the world (and our minds) something that we are not.  Be aware of this. Watch yourself. Be as authentic as possible --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/meditationinquarantine/support

Snipit 109: Rule 12 - Pet a cat when you encounter one on the street
Video One take let's go. "Pet a cat when you encounter one on the street." (Rule 12 Jordan Peterson) This is really a play off of stop and smell the roses because It's pretty obvious that life is suffering or that  It is at least marred by tragedy and things we cannot overcome. This rule is just all about Enjoying the Wonder of Being, and not shutting off to it just because things aren't absolutely perfect. So whenever we are out in the world, it is absolutely crucial to have enough awareness to pay attention to the Beauty, to the Wonder, to the Joy of Being, and that is really all this rule is about because it is just way too easy to be nihilistic and pessimistic and whatnot. It is absolutely important for all of us to Take a breath, and have some joy in our lives, and that comes from interacting with other beings in a forthright and uplifting manner instead of just being super super pessimistic. So pet a cat or dog when you encounter one on the street. Allow joy in your life. What’s something you’ve been ignoring that could bring joy to your life? montgomeryborg.com/podcast #beauty #life #love #mentalhealth #inspiration #motivation #happiness #inspiration #happiness #entrepreneur #mentalhealth #wellness #motivation #mindfulness #meditation #selflove #yoga #healing --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/meditationinquarantine/support

Snipit 108: Rule 11 - Don't Bother Children When They're Skateboarding
One-take. Let's go. Do not bother children while they're skateboarding. This is Rule 11 in Peterson's 12 rules for life. It is really a dialogue and a question on toughness, and how, especially as caregivers, it can be very easy to not want any harm to come to the person that you are taking care of, but the the way any of us can grow and learn is to fall and skin our knees every once in a while and it's absolutely crucial, for as in an individual, to push the boundaries of their own limits rather than having some parents or some guardian tell them to do otherwise and that's absolutely apt to today because we are quite in a coddled society. I mean, back in ancient ones, they would send people out in to the forest and if you came back alive great you made it and today I mean, I'm not saying we should probably bring that that but ideally the only way to grow is to be in places that make you feel comfortable that could possibly even cause harm but the reason it is to not bother children while they're skateboard is to let truly be engaged with what they are doing and make their own mistakes and learn from that because honestly skateboard and what's the worst that can really happen most of the time and so it's really on the individual, on ourselves, to push our own limits and also to let others find their own limits. It's so do not bother children while they are skateboarding. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/meditationinquarantine/support

Snipit 106: Rule 10 - Be Precise In Your Speech (12 Rules for Life)
One take. Let's Go. Be precise in your speech. This rule is the exact reason I am doing this video right here, right now. It's to practice being as precise in my speech as possible, and especially for someone who stutters, but also all of us in general have a difficulty being truthful. Being truthful in our speech and so this is Rule 10 in Jordan Peterson's 12 rules for life and, so, be precise in your speech. Say what you mean so that you can find out what you mean. Act out what you say So you can find out what happens, then pay attention, note your errors, articulate them. Arrive to correct them. This is how you discover the meaning of your life. This will protect you from the tragedy of your life. How could it be otherwise? Confront the chaos of being. Take aim out against a sea of troubles. Specify your destination and chart your course. Admit to what you want. And tell those around you who you are. Narrow and gaze attentively and then move forward forthrightly. Be precise in your speech. that was the last couple of paragraphs from the chapter and it just is all focused on being as truthful as possible because especially today in society there's a lot of redefining of terms or we are really refining what we are able allowed to say when really saying anything possible, any restriction on that, is a restriction towards the discovery of Truth. And that is why we are all here on this interface with each other. I mean some of it's just pure mind numbing entertainment but most of us are trying to achieve logos, to find the truth, start with yourself you precise speech Montgomeryborg.com/podcast --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/meditationinquarantine/support

Snipit 105: Rule 9 - Assume the Person You Are Speaking To Might Know Something You Don't (12 Rules for Life)
Video 26/90 Assumes that the person you are listening to might know something that you don't. (Rule 9 Jordan Peterson's 12 Rules for Life) I think it is far too easy for all of us to assume what we know a person is going to say, or We just listened to respond instead of listening to comprehend That's just part of human nature and it's why we must buck this existential trend of trying to respond, respond, respond, Instead of truly listening in a dialogue and in that way we can actually develop and find new meaning throughout these real conversations Instead of just trading intellect or ideology, which is very limiting. It also includes our inner self because our inner self is speaking to us constantly and if we are not in line with that, then there's cognitive dissonance all over the place. So take a moment and just listen and comprehend and you go watcher and thinker behind all those thoughts. Always assume the person that you're listening to might know something you don't. What’s something you’ve learned from an unexpected source?
