I Have been loving the Table Friends exploring the Sopranos, so much so that I went back and caught up with thier season of Hunter x Hunter and now am writing a review for the Clemency Month and as a informant. My friends Lafe and Hoopz Barkley listen to this show and have not written 5 star reviews. I hope this information is enough to grant me criminal immunity for my review crimes.

I really like this show, I think it is very good, but I also think it would be improved massively if Keith were more thoughtful and didn’t willfully keep talking about animal abuse after being asked not to multiple times.

started listening to this show because of the promise of the Massachusetts Minute from Side Story after spending a long time thinking that I didn’t really care about hxh. i’m still not sure i care about hxh but listening to these people talk is such a joy. and i do care about the sopranos.

started listening to MCP after catching up on side story, which i started after catching up on FatT. the hosts strike a perfect balance between serious & insightful media analysis, and making a show that's just plain fun & enjoyable to listen to. one small bit of feedback: i would politely ask that the cast consider being a smidge more conscientious about the occasional casual use of the word "psychotic"/"psycho", but overall it's still a 5 star podcast, as always. thanks again for helping me get through the work day, Friends! 💜

I love the whole FatT family of podcasts (and others featuring FatT cast members!) I have been a longtime Actual Play podcast listener, and this crew is probably the smartest in the biz, which also makes them the funniest in the biz. Media Club Plus is like when you are chatting with a friend and you both just start infodumping at each other, with all the joy, love, and diversion of such a conversation. I highly recommend this show to anyone who is interested in genuinely incredible in-depth analysis of film and TV (and more?) that also will leave your abs sore from laughing and your roommate looking at you like you’re crazy because you’re laughing at something they can’t hear. P.S. I appreciate your shoutout to film/tv editors in the latest ep. I know a number of people in film who work as editors, and they are some of the coolest, most tireless and dedicated people I know.

Love listening to the intelligent and differing takes the whole group has on all of their media, especially ones I’ve seen before that I get to revisit and see in a new light with insights that never occurred to me before—it really feels like I’m watching/rewatching beloved (or beloathed) media with some friends :) Also, really funny, can’t emphasize that enough. My only caveats/points of friction are really when it feels like the hosts keep trying to talk over each other to get their bits in, and no one can get their actual thoughts on the media out without being interrupted, contrasted with moments when someone has a genuinely thought-provoking observation and is met with a wall of silence. This really grates for me as a listener when it’s the Fools talking, as I find their fresh takes to be the real charm of this show. It also feels like the crew would benefit from someone keeping a dedicated timeline of events, as a not-insignificant amount of airtime seems to be the hosts trying to remember the order of events and then backtracking their mistakes. All in all, it’s genuinely a lot of fun and I’m having fun listening to each new episode, but my sticking points unfortunately lower my general opinion on the quality of the whole product.

I cannot underscore how blessed it feels that this crew are covering one of my favorite shows of all time. My favorite Italian dish is eggplant rollatini and those three color rainbow cookies.

You should be listening to Media Club + I have listened to Friends at the Table for years at this point. The cast starting another project where they deep dive an anime that missed me as I read Naruto and Bleach didn’t really seem relevant. Then they moved on to movies, but I decided to listen to the show from the beginning. I’ve now read the entire available run of Hunter x Hunter manga. I’ve started watching the anime. I’ve annoyed my partner and friends with my ranting about how this group gets the show and story on deep and meaningful levels. Thank you truly for being so passionate about the show and sharing that passion with me. You’ve made me a fan. I can only offer my apologies that I have waited to give this review. I heard the calls to action, but ignored them for so long because I was listening disjointed from your release schedule. But the offer of clemency near the end of the Chimera Ant Arc with the reminder that I could still do so even now motivated me. Thank you so much, and now that I’m leaving Apple reviews better go do so for the rest of the Friends at the Table shows.

I’m ashamed to say I’m one of the listeners that hear the call for reviews every ep and have never responded. But now having binged all of the m night shyamalan season, having picked up the hxh season 3 different times since launch (currently watching along in the middle of chimera ant), and now with the fantastic start to the sopranos season, I just had to leave a comment about how wonderful this podcast is. The whole cast, no matter who makes up the episode/season, always have the most insightful and hilarious takes, that elevate the watching experience of any of the media (or the non watching of most of the m night movies). This podcast has been such a delight and I’ve been slowly convincing new friends who are into hxh to check it out. Worth 100 stars.

this used to be my favorite podcast but legitimately the last 13 episodes have been so interminable and miserable that it makes me think less of the episodes that came before. i’m looking forward to this show being about actually interesting and enjoyable media again.

Nonbinary person born in September (as most of us are) who got activated by listening to season 1 episode 36. This show is fantastic! I’ve been blazing through my first watch of Hunter x Hunter and the depth and quality of critical discussion has been such a lovely way to deepen the experience of an exceptional show. As a fan of Friends at the Table, I can’t recommend this podcast enough!

Media Club Plus is great, it's great at anime, and great at this one guy. You should listen to the signs episode 13 times, it really helps with all the everything going on. Then listen to the part of the Happening episode where Jack shouts "Twenty!?"; the rest of the episode too!

Keith J Carberry is fun in small doses. He should not be hosting the show. He doesn't have the juice.

I’m gonna be real with y’all, the movie Split was a hell of an episode to finally catch up to the show on. Media Club Plus is braver than the troops. This show has been such a delight and a comfort for me for the last 6 months or so and it’s always fun to watch along (well, I guess, ALMOST always). Some of the best criticism out there, marrying sharp insight with humor and charm. I know the Friends at the Table are only so many folks but I’m glad to have followed their work on the main show, on MCP, and on Side Story; it’s ALL wonderful

I came from Friends at the Table, so I was already familiar with and fond of all the cast members. I honestly can’t think of anything I’d rather do than listen to smart, aware, thoughtful, interesting people introduce each other to stories they love, and talk about stories and media in general. If that sounds appealing to you as well, go ahead and subscribe.

I'm the mythical adult who didn't know the twist in the Sixth Sense and I figured it out ALONG WITH THE CHARACTER AT THE END OF THE MOVIE. Ahem. It was fantastic and I'm so thankful to MCP for introducing me to this movie and then giving me twice as much runtime as the movie itself to think about it.

The thing is this show is good. Good enough to get me over my distaste for this app. I rate media club plus five stars, and better than the entire Apple Podcasts app.

I’ve been enjoying this season even though I swore off Shyamalan films after Signs. I tried watching Split before the episode came out because my wife insisted it was “really funny”, but I was only able to make it about 15 minutes in. Huge respect to all the members of the Podcast for doing the hard work so we don’t have to, excited to hear what’s up next!

Do yourself a favor and listen to this show; their Hunter x Hunter coverage is excellent and thought-provoking, and the M. Night mini-season has me regularly losing it (and bothering friends to listen as well). “Cleaning his shotgun normal style” is a phrase that will live with me forever

I used to love this podcast but the current season has become exhausting because Keith will not stop spending episodes complaining about how bad a writer he thinks M. Night Shaymalan instead of letting everyone discuss the movie
