Shiva Lingashtakam Stotram chant with Karen K
The Linga as a Symbol of CreationThe ancient Hindu scripture "Linga Purana" says that the foremost Linga is devoid of smell, color, taste, etc., and is spoken of as Prakriti, or Nature itself. In the post-Vedic period, the Linga became symbolical of the generative power of Lord Shiva. The Linga is like an egg and represents the Brahmanda (the cosmic egg). Linga signifies that the creation is affected by the union of Prakriti and Purusha, the male and the female powers of Nature. It also signifies Satya, Jnana, and Ananta—Truth, Knowledge, and Infinity. lyrics https://greenmesg.org/stotras/shiva/lingashtakam.php

Clare Fulton in conversation with Elaine Jervis
Elaine is a relatively new yoga teacher and long term yoga student. "I live in Edinburgh and have done for almost 20 years - but as my accent might give away, I am originally from Northern Ireland. After years of juggling my practice (and then teaching) around a busy job, I recently took the plunge and am now opting for a quieter, simpler life - practicing and teaching yoga by the sea. I am usually to be found in the late Mysore room; though I love to practice Vinyasa/Gentle Vinyasa and Restorative classes too. I came relatively late to yoga. I only started practicing Ashtanga consistently in my late twenties and really delving into my practice in my mid thirties. I had never loved exercise; I'd tried many classes (some disastrously!) but was drawn to the variety, pace and meditative quality of yoga. I was always quite flexible; though learned the heard way that building strength and learning to tune into my body would be my greatest challenges and biggest gifts in safely progressing with my yoga journey."Clare Fulton is a yoga teacher and Yoga Health Coach who specialises in helping people live vibrantly in their body and mind, using the wisdom of yoga and Ayurveda.
