Comedy and Assholes
I'm a big fan of comedy, as both my parents are giving it a crack I want to chat to Dad about it. So we did, and then we also chatted about Dad being a grumpy asshole sometimes.

Long overdue catch up
Its been 6 months since we have recorded a podcast. Me and Dad just have a chat, nothing specific just typical us silliness, talking about life, school whatever came up in between. Be warned, a lot of rambling may or may not take place.

Music soothes the savage beast!
One thing I've inherited from my Dad is a love of music. We love to hear it, play it and experience it. I fond out the only thing my Dad loves more than experiencing a new piece of music is sharing it with others. We have had some serious chats lately and in this one, it was simply nice to just laugh and reminisce over our shared memories of music we love. Hope you enjoy the episode.

Why Trust you? a chat about politics
Dad has tried not to be political on our podcast and with less than two weeks until a federal election I thought it was time to change that. Turns out he is pretty grumpy towards politicians and thinks they can and should do a whole better. We chatted about things that I am interested in and it turns out, just like me my Dad is a bit of a lefty, even though he reckons he is a centrist.  Hope you enjoy the episode. Did you say the "C" word?!
By the C word, I clearly meant COVID. Mum and Dad both tested positive. Dad’s jack of COVID but given he has to stay home for the week I thought it would be a good opportunity to nail him down and have a chat about it and what the journey has been like for him. Stop swallowing stones- a raw chat about grief
We have done a few fun podcasts but given what is going on in the world this week, doing another one of those just didn't feel right. So I decided to speak to Dad about grief. I only wanted to talk, I didn't want to make him cry, I didn't want to make myself cry. But we did, and we also laughed. As I found out from Dad, there is no perfect way to grieve, but there certainly are bad ways. I hope this conversation helped Dad, who knows, he usually has a good poker face, but I think I managed to get inside and give his heart a hug. If you or anyone you know is struggling with grief, don't stay silent about it. Don't let it become a rock inside you.

Lets Play a game, Dad
So I found this list on the socials recently "Give yourself a point for each thing you HAVENT done" so I though hmmmmm I wonder how many points Dad would get. Needless to say I had a super fun time making Dad uncomfortable for your listening pleasure.

Help... Dad I got my first job!
So as you know I am 14 and here in Australia it means I can get a job. I wasn't searching for one but the pub where my Mum works at needed someone to help out the back and when asked I said "Sho me the money!" Then I thought I wonder what jobs Dad has done...turns out it's a lot. What did I learn? You can have fun and make the best out of anything you do and that I don't need to have it all figured out.  That I can do as many different things as I would like, which is a relief because there are so many interesting things in life and it makes me excited.

Toxic Masculinity
Abby "I've heard this term toxic masculinity a lot and I want to know what it is and why it is such a bad thing for both men and women..."In this episode I ask Dad some pretty tough questions and after Mum had a listen she thought it best to let our listeners know there is some content in this episode that can be triggering. We are discussing things such as gendered and domestic violence, suicide and death. After our chat we did some research. Have you heard of White Ribbon Australia? I hadn't but it is an organisation doing amazing things. Here is a repost from their websiteWhite Ribbon Australia is a part of a global social movement working to eliminate gendered violence. We strive for an Australian society where all women and children are safe. White Ribbon is the world’s largest movement engaging men and boys to end men’s violence against women and girls, promote gender equality and create new opportunities for men to build positive, healthy and respectful relationships. The White Ribbon Australia movement works through a primary prevention approach in communities, schools and workplaces across the country. Through our programs and campaigns, we engage with men to become active in the social change needed to stop men’s violence against women and children. Our PurposeEngaging men to make women's safety a man's issue too.
