Grades In Working For
Ok, so, I’m 9 years old, I already know 4th Grade Math and 5th Grade math, but, this is giving me 6th grade knowledge! I am trying to work up to this grade! Well, I do know one 6th grade thing, Ratios, I’m working on how to simplify them, I’m so happy, thank you to the hosts, you helped my math brain!

Amazing
Omg... I was curious about looking for math podcasts for myself (for fun) but also for my 5th grade daughter. THIS podcasts, love LOVE the hosts AND the content because as a parent busy and frustrated feeling bad not being able to help my 5th grader with math (as teachers are wanting us parents to do activities with kids for work.. ) well.. this podcast is amazing that helps me hear an educator's perspective AND helps me as well helping my daughter with math and letting her listen in to understand... that she's not the only kiddo feeling the way she does at times. You guys are amazing!!!

Inspiring and relatable!
I have always enjoyed teaching reading (more than math) because I felt like I wasn’t great at teaching math. After listening and following your podcast, I’ve realized I need to change my mindset about math. There are so many awesome take aways that I plan to start using immediately in my classroom. I really appreciate the emphasis on critical thinking and problem solving! I look forward to this podcast each week.

Practical and So Enjoyable to Listen To :)
Tracy and Ruth are entertaining, inspiring, funny, and oh so real! Listening to them talk about their experiences in their classrooms - the good, the bad, and the baffling- provides teachers with real ideas of rich, student-centered tasks and lessons to try in their classrooms. Tracy teaches advanced fourth grade and Ruth teaches 6th so the episodes during the school year are great for math teachers of K-8 but specifically applicable to teachers of grades 4-7. I'm really enjoying the summer episodes in which each week they review a book pertinent to all those in math education. Jay is there to make sure Ruth and Tracy explain the terms they throw around for all those not familiar with the trending terms in math education today. Looking forward to future episodes from Ruth, Tracy, and Jay.

My very own PLC on a podcast!
I love listening to these two ladies. One is s fourth-grade Math teacher & the other a sixth-grade Math teacher. I was captivated from my first episode as they are very open about how they decided to shift their teaching style towards student discovery of the concepts over teacher taught. Listening to how they start with a goal and hash out the specifics to create a student centered learning experience makes me feel like I’m in my PLC and discussing it right there with them. I often hear one ask the very question I was thinking! As a sixth-grade teacher I enjoy hearing how the the lower levels teach what I’m building on. I get ideas I can use with my struggling students. And then there are the show notes...Oh my the show notes! They do a superb job of have a link to EVERY resource they talk about in an easy to find place. A teacher’s dream. Thank you for sharing your process & ideas. I can’t wait to go back through your episodes this summer to gather ideas for next year.

Must listen for anyone who teaches math.
An earlier review called this podcast a game changer, and they were spot on. I am a math intervention specialist for a K-5 school. This is what I listen to on my way to and from work every day. Tracy and Ruth discuss the different activities they are doing to turn their students into mathematicians. There are always at least 2 or 3 ideas that I take from this podcast and try in my own classrooms. If you teach math at any level, you need to listen to this podcast. Most activities can be scaffolded to any grade. And they make it so easy by linking to everything in the show notes. I only wish I could give this podcast 6 stars.

So good!
I really don’t care about math bc I teach English, but somehow these two make it interesting? I didn’t even know that was possible. It’s the mark of a good teacher to be excited enough about your topic that you meet at 5:30am to talk about it when you could be sleeping. Their enthusiasm is contagious!
