With a natural ability to envision, communicate and execute creative ideas, Joy Lynskey is a genuine talent in the world of interior design. She is the Founder and Creative Director of Jewel Toned Interiors (JTI), an award-winning interior design studio located in Fort Lauderdale. Her team is dedicated to creating spaces that inspire while giving back to the community. The JTI Team participates and fundraises annually for Habitat for Humanity. Recently they completed their first bedroom makeover for a Make-A-Wish recipient. A Lifework Leadership alum, Joy is a member of the Fort Lauderdale Executive’s Association and the South Florida Chapter of IIDA (the International Interior Design Association.)
She serves as Secretary on the Board of Directors for the Construction Executive’s Association and as Co-Chair of Communications for the Board of Trustees of StrikeForce 421. In 2017, Joy was awarded the Entrepreneur of Excellence award from the Entrepreneur's Organization and in 2019 Joy received the South Florida IIDA Star of the Year Award at their annual BRAGG award’s gala.
This year Joy and JTI were recognized as one of the top women-led businesses in Florida by The Commonwealth Institute. She is was an honoree at Rebuilding Broward’s recent Black Dresses and Blueprints, Celebrating Women in Construction event.
Joy is the sixth child from a blended family as well as a sixth-generation Floridian. Outside of the design studio, she can be found spending time outdoors with her most cherished gifts, the members of her family. Her British ex-pat husband and their four children ranging from age three to twenty-one are her sources of inspiration and motivation.

Previously, she served for 7+ years as the Vice President of Programs for The Wasie Foundation, a private family foundation.
She is an advocate for many social causes and is committed to philanthropy on a personal level. Her infectious enthusiasm and tireless dedication led her to participate in the “2013 Freedom Climb” for Operation Mobilization, bringing much-needed awareness to Human Trafficking by climbing Mt. Everest in Nepal.
In recognition of Jen’s numerous community accomplishments, both Broward County and the City of Fort Lauderdale officially proclaimed April 14, 2010, as “Jen Klaassens Appreciation Day.”

In today's episode, Ginger shares on persistence. She shares about a time specifically where 14 years ago she took over as CEO and implemented new strategies and daily early morning meetings. She emphasizes how important it is to be persistent and create a culture that emulates your vision & mission statements as well as the company's values. She shares a few practical habits she has adopted that help her to stay persistent:
1. Seek wisdom from God daily - start each day off in prayer and reading the Bible. She believes this is key to wisdom, excellence and persistence. "God gets no glory in mediocrity."
2. Read daily - read leadership books daily that will keep you focused on growing and learn from other great leaders.
3. Stay connected to a strong community - She shares how important it is to surround yourself with like-minded leaders that will help you grow, challenge you and encourage you. Ginger says the women of Masterpiece Women have been that community for her along with several other key leaders in the area. Iron sharpens iron.

Overcoming Adversity Michele Nadeem-Baker, a patient influencer, speaker and former communications executive shares how she took the horrible diagnosis of an incurable cancer and turned it into an opportunity to help others.
Today's Podcast and video features former International Corporate Executive Michele Nadeem Baker. In today's podcast you will hear how Michele went from a dream position as an international leader in communications to becoming a voice and an incredible support system to women diagnosed with cancer.
You can imagine the effect a cancer diagnosis had on Michele. Michele found herself deflated,, scared, and overwhelmed. Her identity was caught up in her career. Often, we fall into that trap. Michele shares how she has and is dealing with the greatest adversity of her life. She has turned her diagnosis of cancer into an opportunity to serve other women all over the world that have the diagnosis of cancer.
She shares practical tips to dealing with the questions “Now What?’. When Michele was diagnosed, she had no idea what she would do next. She had to dig deep and seek help. She gives excellent advice to other women struggling with any difficult situation:
First, you must figure out your passion and your purpose. Your purpose helps gives you power. It doesn't happen overnight. It may take longer than you anticipate, however give yourself grace. You may fail the first time, that is ok. You try something else. Her number one recommendation is to listen to God. He will guide you. Her second is to find a community and coaching to help you such as Masterpiece Women. She suggests that you dig deep and ask yourself the right questions. She shares how masterpiece women programs and community were key to her unlocking her purpose and passions. The community and coaching were transformational in her life. The women in the group challenged her to ask herself the tough questions and to give her the support and accountability she needed as she grew and changed her mind set with the content.
You must change your thinking. You must go from victim to victory. Listen as she shares how she was able to overcome fear, get out of her comfort zone and break through the roadblocks.
She shares how she is now using all her gifts and talents to help other women to thrive in the midst of the battle against cancer. She is kicking cancer in heels.
