This is a two part episode in which I and my Mom delve beneath the surface of her arranged marriage. She took a step back from the church and community in 2010 to focus on her mental health and gain clarity on her life and marriage. It was a life full of lies and abuse behind closed doors that no one in the community ever knew until now. This interview might start off slow, but stick with it and towards the end and especially in part II, we get into some nitty gritty content. We unintentionally talked for almost 4 hours about a few main points that my mom wanted to make before I started the interviewing process and dialogue. I pressed record just to get things started, and we ended up having a casual conversation that would ultimately set up the listener to better understand our background and my moms relationship within her marriage first and foremost. This wasn't meant to be the first thing we released, however, now it seems vital to premise where we are coming from before we move forward with deeper questions or sharing.
