Born in Paratwada in Amravati district, he left his hometown to participate in India's freedom movement. His writing style made the readers feel as if he is talking to them, the novel Mogara Phulala, is a perfect example of it. He was an avid traveller too and penned many travelogues mostly about forts in Maharashtra.
