–11, alongside Exodus 34:6–7 and Daniel 9, we see that every true rebuild begins with a holy discontent. God allows His heart to break ours so we stop critiquing from a distance and start praying like owners. Before walls are rebuilt, something has to shift within us. Nehemiah looks honestly at the condition of the city, prays prayers shaped by God’s covenant character, confesses corporate sin, and then moves from burden to bold asking. This passage reminds us that nothing changes in the city until something changes in us—and prayer is where rebuilding is born.
