Dr. Aaron Tressler
Making Pittsburgh Healthy is designed to educate, inspire and provide practical applications to improve our health in our community, naturally. MPH was created out of frustration as Dr. Tressler saw was happening in our community. The rise of obesity, chronic sickness, heart and lung disease, and depending on higher levels of pharmaceuticals and surgery as a result of poor health. Dr. Tressler also saw an exciting opportunity to make a difference. His passion for natural health and healing extends back to childhood. Growing up he suffered with chronic gastrointestinal issues, allergies and sinus problems. And then witnessing his father die from heart disease at age 50, he vowed to never allow this to happen to him and find the answer. The mission and goal for MPH is to provide the community with natural health options. This can extend from chiropractic, fitness and exercise, homeopathy, nutritional support, mental and health, along with supplementation. We need to be aware of what our amazing community offers and the wonderful doctors and professionals we have.

I had such a an amazing conversation with Pastor Josh that I had to bring him back for a part 2. In contrast to our last episode, Living Life Fully Alive, we talk about what living in fear looks like. He and his wife Allissa have been married for 24 years and have 10 children. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Ministry, Masters of Religion, Masters of Divinity, and finally his Doctorate in Educational Leadership. In addition to some trade work in his youth, over the course of his vocational ministry he has served in a variety of Pastoral roles, has been a Teacher, a K12 Administrator, and a College Professor. #50 Overcoming Trauma and Abuse: Dr. Lorie Hood
Dr. Lorie Hood is a traumatologist, neuropsychologist, and Certified Master Coach; credentialed by the International Coach Federation. She is board certified in Forensic Traumatology, Domestic Violence, and Emergency Crisis Response (Diplomate Credential). She is trained and well versed in mind body medicine and dance therapy and uses a somatic approach to her work. Dr. Hood was trained as a researcher at the University of Virginia where she focused on profound intelligence and how highly and profoundly intelligent individuals differ from the rest of the population. Dr. Hood also holds an EdS in curriculum and Instruction and a PhD in Organizational Development and Transformation. Lorie has connected her research on intelligence with her research on stress, resilience, trauma and posttraumatic growth and has created trainings, programs and curricula that inform human potential and performance on both individual and system levels. She received her Bachelors degree in psychology from the University of Hawaii and her Masters degree in counseling psychology from Chaminade University of Honolulu. As an athlete, professional dancer and actor, Lorie learned at an early age what it means to perform under pressure when the stakes are high. She used those experiences and her own research in developing The Hood Group High Stakes Performance Method.
