I hate the term “have an open mind.” I hate it because it reminds of a trash can in the sense that when it’s open all things can enter it. Including other people’s bad ideas and poor judgments.

I would prefer you to have an active mind, which is the most challenging mind to have. It’s one that requires a lot of work and effort to maintain, yet, will bring you the most success in life.
