This is my favorite podcast ever I’ve been listening for years and have the story line memorized I tell all my friends to listen to this amazing podcast it’s family friendly and has a deep story and am so excited to see where it goes next (btw I’m Michael the make believe champion patron)

It’s great D&D with nice editing. Family friendly and funny throughout try season one! Give it a couple of episodes and you will be hooked.

This is the best podcast I have ever listened to. I was recommended it by a friend and immediately loved it. The role playing is amazing, the DMing is out of this world in the way, that even though I am not there, I feel like I am sitting at the table with them. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good Dungeons & Dragons podcast that is family friendly. Also please ignore my name it was given to me by someone who I cannot recall, also that one orc who ran that whole journey just to explode himself is the absolute best ever. Season 5!!!!!!!! Is Crazy, what is happening(I’m not going to spoil) but it is absolutely annoying the cliff hangers. Once again great podcast. You are the wings above my wind!

This podcast is THE best and cleanest DnD podcast. The characters are very good and Paul is an amazing DM. My favorite characters, not necessarily in order, are Kris (#1), Sir Vance, Brackle, (unfortunately for Jeffrey) Lauric, and (fortunately for Jeffrey) Kyorg. I love how each season has new and returning characters, new classes, and sometimes higher levels. Loving the level 11-12 characters in Season 5. Almost caught up all the way after a year or so. (Instead of a period, I’m going to take Zach’s advice and write a review for Jeffrey to read.) SPOILERS!!!!!! This is an incredible podcast about two heroes named Sir Vance Oftawol and Kyorg, and the minor supporting characters who accompany these two heroes on their quests. It’s hard to choose a favorite character, but I would have to go with Kyorg or Sir Vance. And there are also some other great people in the show. Such as Paul the DM, who is great because he let Kyorg be a werewolf and have a pet crab, and because he brought back Sir Vance in season three. And Kris, because he made Kyorg a cool hand. Some of my other favorite characters are Joseph Stormbright, Hadrian Goldworthy, Heles, and Gus. My favorite scenes have probably been the ones with Sir Vance and Kyorg. I have just finished listening to season 4, and I’m excited to hear season 5 where the orange drakon kelli defeats Blackfire. Also, Jem will become the purple drakon kelli in season nine. The only bad thing about this podcast is Lauric, but fortunately Sir Vance took care of that problem. Also SPAGHET!!! ITS THE PEOPLES CHAMPION!!! P.s. I absolutely love this show! The DMing is incredible (Paul, your voice is so amazing btw) Jeffrey (sorry if I spelled your name wrong), your hilarious comments always bring a goblin reminiscent toothy smile to my face. In fact, all of the players do an exceptional job at role playing, and also have fun together. Among many (when I say many, I mean many) other draws to this podcast, the fact that the jokes are all family-friendly is a great thing to add. (Rambling brings joy to my life so bear with me). My favorite episode was probably Kyorgi and the Corgi, simply because of the AMAZING role-playing in the episode. Started listening a month ago and I’m starting Season 4. Couldn’t wait to write a review any longer. This podcast has made my hour long drives to and from work much more bearable as Paul and friends weave a tapestry of good story and laughs. I really enjoying having a actual play podcast that I can listen to without cussing being a part of the show and that is so well produced. Hope to meet these legends one day.

Fun podcast with a mix of personalities. The regulars are great and the occasional step ins bring a good dynamic. I appreciate the profanity free audio and I’m never worried if my kids overhear the podcast. Plus, it’s the only podcast where the orange draconkeli is canon. Facts!

Hello amazing humans! This is a fantastic podcast and these peoples have gotten me through some tough times in my life. Around 2018 I turned 17, yep that’s right “17!!!” I was struggling with homeschooling and I was pulled out of most of my extra curricular activities until I graduated. During this time I discovered the pre-downloaded podcast app on my iPad. Make Believe Heroes got me through hours, days, weeks and months etc of studying, quizzes, and tests. I can honestly say I would have never gotten up the courage to get my GED in 2020 without this podcast. Thank you guys for all you do, you do so much more than you know!! YOU'RE THE BEST!!!

By chance, I stumbled upon this podcast while browsing my recommended section on Amazon Music and immediately I fell in love with it. As a long-time dice role-playing family, the story and interaction of friends brought back a lot of nostalgia and warm feelings. When talking about the next upcoming game night, I said, “Hey- you know what podcast I just started following? It’s called Make-Believe Heroes” and my 15 year old daughter goes, “No way!! This is da best podcast for D&D that I’ve ever heard. It’s also completely free of profanity, which literally does not exist in almost every other D&D podcast where they swear 85 times per episode. SO SPICYYYYYYYY

I’ve tried listening to a lot of different actual play D&D podcast. This is one of the few that feels complete, it’s funny, enjoyable, clean, and everyone playing a seems to be having a good time. Paul is a great dungeon master and does an amazing job with all the sound effects. I started listening a few months ago and I couldn’t imagine waiting a week for a new episode. Keep up the good work

I just discovered the podcast no longer than a month maybe two ago now, and I have binge listened to all of season one, henceforth why I cried, and most of season two. I have only ever found one other clean dnd podcast before this one and I am so excited that there are more. If I may Suggest an other dnd podcast I would suggest, The Damage Guild, which is the other clean dnd podcast I listen to. A while back i listened to this podcast, but then i didn’t really have time to keep up with the episodes much, so after a year I remembered what it was called again and I decided to listen to it. I started over at the beginning and I am on season two so far. This podcast inspired me to make my own world to run instead of using other people’s. This is the best podcast ever, the roleplaying, storyline, and character development leave nothing more to be desired. Keep up the great work yall.

I’m honestly obsessed with this podcast. As a beginner DM I really look up to Paul and admire his skills. The players roll playing is amazing and I sometimes find myself wondering why my players are so miserably bad at it compared to them. I fully recommend this podcast and can find absolutely no problems with it. But you know what they say, love is blind so you should give it a try and see for your self before you follow my advice.

This is an amazing podcast that I love to death. My mom introduced me to this telling me how it was so funny. I started listening and love it to death!! My favorite people on here are probably Allen, Caleb (Red as of S1), and Jeffery. You all are amazing and need to be more well known. Edit: as of this edit here (July 3rd 2023) I’ve listened all the way up to season 3 and I’m close to its end. AND I LOVE THIS PODCAST SO MUCH MORE THAN BEFORE! The writing, the characters, Jeffery, Jeremy, Paul, Felicia (sorry if I miswrote your name), and Allen (sorry if I misspelled your name) are all amazing (especially Jeffery and Jeremy)! This podcast is not the first I’ve listened to, but it was the first to rotate the players between seasons and have them create multiple characters all in the same story and world. I think the story has been amazing and the roleplaying is so spicy!! Finally finished season 4 and so excited for whats coming soon! “What was chained will probs. be unleashed!”

This is such a great podcast with so many things that leave you wanting more. The audio is great, the story is exciting, and the people are decent. It brings me a jolt of excitement every time I listen. It’s so fun and helpful because I am a DM myself and Paul (the dungeon master) has helped me so much with my home world, and Paul has helped me with just how to play correctly. P.s. Paul is my favorite character.

After listening to the first season, I feel that I owe this to MBH for 40+ hours well spent. I absolutely adore this show. The stories are enthralling, the characters are interesting, and the players entertaining. Add top-notch production values, and it makes this show one you can’t miss. This is the best podcast I’ve ever listened to in my life and I think that it is terrible that people think that d&d is nerdy but it really isn’t, I mean like Sure it involves math and sure that is a bit nerdy but it is still amazing and fun and just so good that I started a club at my school and Laurie is so funny I loved the part with the water troff and the lightning 😂

“This is a dungeons and dragons podcast where we play dungeons and dragons with each other!” This podcast is great. The quality is so good and the story is great. Paul the DM is amazing and tells the story so well. All the players are hilarious. It’s clean, and as a younger listener that’s super great. There’s not that many clean podcasts out there, so that makes this one all the better! Keep up the great work! I’m editing this right as I finish season four, and I’m finally caught up. I binged all the seasons for about 3 years, and have been on and off but always coming back for belly laughs and a great story arc. Excited to see where this goes!

I’ve been playing dnd since 2019, and love the game. For years, my dnd group has been trying to find a Dnd podcast that isn’t filled to the brink with cuss words, and we were failing to do so, until we found this podcast. This podcast is so great. The players are so fun and they clearly have expertise in the performance skill. Paul is so great at DMing and telling this awesome story. I can confidently say that my DMing has be influence and inspired by his. I also really appreciate the amazing quality of their recordings. I’d also like to note how this group actually cares for their fans (which is hard to come by), Paul’s been very good and responding to my emails whenever I have questions. Keep up the good work MBH

My D&D crazed sons listen to your podcast on our long route to school every day. I confess that I don’t understand D&D at all but I appreciate your podcast for two reasons: 1) it doesn’t make me cringe due to foul language or crude talk 2) we share a laugh together. My sons are often laughing because of the funny content in the storyline while I have a good giggle over your thick southern accent and nod to random American cultural icons. Thanks for the good work.

Love the characters’ interactions, descriptions by the DM, and the intros are amazing. When will we see the orange Dracon Keli? Lastly, since Jemaleil is a half-elf, is it not possible that Brackel is his cousin on the human side, and Char on the elven?

Oh my gosh! This Podcast is so good, I could rant about it for an hour! Thank you guys for creating such an amazing, clean, attention grabbing podcast! I started listening about 2 months ago and have finally caught up right at the end of season 4! I didn’t want to write a review until I finally caught up. Don’t want to spoil season 4 finale so all I will say is that I was smiling the whole time, occasionally bursting out in uncontrollable laughter fueled by excitement. I love all of the characters so much and don’t think that I could pick a favorite. Thank you all so much! P.S. Paul is an amazing DM and I definitely take notes on how he works all of the character’s backstories into the campaign, creating an immersive world.

My Boyfriend got me hooked on this podcast and because the episodes being a lot shorter than some of the other podcasts I listen too I find it a great way to pass and gage time during my 12 hr shifts on the week end. Technically I’m not really supposed to be listening to anything on my head phones at work which means I have to be sneaky but it’s worth it. The one down side is when y’all get me full on belly laughing at work I have to try to be as quiet as possible so I’ve almost choked on my mask more than once while listening. Seriously this podcast is awesome and worth all the near suffocations.
