I’m happy to share a talk I had with my friend and songwriter from Corinth, Mississippi, Cody Rogers. We talk about music, what it’s like growing up in small southern towns, southern accents, songwriting, the Dixie Mafia, pool shark preachers, fatherhood, and his new album Tishomingo.

This week I had the pleasure of talking with an Oxford, MS rock-n’-roll legend, Tyler Keith. Tyler played guitar in the garage punk band The Neckbones before moving on to make a string of solo records under his own name, Tyler Keith & The Preachers Kids and Tyler Keith and the Apostles.

My dear friend Matt Arbogast (The Gunshy) has been a brother in song to me for the past 20 years. In this episode we talk about how we met, share some touring and recording stories, as well as some news and music from a new project that we're working on.

Today I am happy to welcome my first official guest to the podcast. I’ve known my friend Matt Robinson for 25 years, and he’s one of the first people I met while playing and attending punk and hardcore shows in my late teens in North Mississippi. He lives in Tupelo (about 50 miles east of Oxford) where he owns and operates Change Skate Shop.

Today I am happy to be sharing the first episode of my new podcast, Magnolia Radio. I’m treating this first episode as an official welcome message, an introduction to the form, and also as a test run for myself on how everything’s going to sound, as well as what it will be like to share with y’all in this way.
