Whatever is going on in your mind, you are attracting to you.
~ Bob Proctor
How do you achieve your full potential as a violin maker or even an independent musician, if you are not sure about the exact steps you have to take? Or even if you know it, but the circumstances are not helping?
It appears, when you combine a burning desire to achieve something in your career with a clear image in your mind of what success looks like, plus strong positive intent, you are activating the spiritual laws of success or the laws of quantum physics.
In fact, Joe Dispenza in his book “Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself” speaks about a scientific experiment proving these laws do exist. In this chapter I want to share a story from my life that confirms this because when in the next chapter we speak about the exact steps of the Expert Instrument Business Blueprint you will still need this knowledge to make your journey more fun, more enjoyable, more magical.
Enjoy this special edition of Luthiers & Legacy Podcast, the Christmas episode!

You have far higher chances of getting noticed when you stand out, rather than when you fit in.
“If you want to stand out from the crowd, give people a reason not to forget you”
~ Richard Branson
In his book Story of Art, Ernst Gombrich brilliantly demonstrates that any artists we still remember were different in one or another way. In violin making and music in general it is no different. However, sometimes competitions seem to discourage freedom of creativity. In this episode, you will learn how winning at a completion lead to my momentarily losing passion for violin making at the start of my career, and how I found it back and never lost ever since.

In this episode, you are getting the chance to hear the fascinating story of Sergey Malov's discovering the Violoncello da Spalla, the predecessor of the modern-day cello. Parts of this show are originally a LIFE broadcast in Da Spalla Community on Facebook™.
The violinist Sergey Malov from St. Petersburg is considered as versatile as he is virtuoso: he plays violin, viola, baroque violin, and cello da spalla – the instrument on which Johann Sebastian Bach himself probably played his cello suites. His repertoire ranges from early Baroque music to Johann Sebastian Bach, from classical and romantic violin concertos to the world premieres of contemporary music. For his interpretations, he deals intensively with questions of style and playing techniques of the respective epoch.
On the violin Sergey Malov won prizes at the Paganini Competition in Genoa, the Mozart Competition in Salzburg, the Heifetz Competition in Vilnius and the Michael Hill Competition in Auckland. With the viola he won prizes at the ARD Competition in Munich and at the Tokyo Viola Competition.
As a violin and viola soloist, he has performed with orchestras such as the BBC London Orchestra, the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Enesco Philharmonic Orchestra, the Auckland Philharmonia, and the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra. Invitations from previous seasons have also taken him to the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra, with whom he performed Sibelius‘ Violin Concerto on Sibelius‘ birthday under Klaus Mäkelä, to the Innsbruck Festival of Early Music, to a Japan recital tour and a tour with the Württemberg Chamber Orchestra Heilbronn. In summer 2019 he was a resident artist at the Turku Music Festival in Finland
Sergey Malov was awarded the baroque violin at the Leipzig Bach Competition. The „JumpstartJunior Foundation“ Amsterdam provided him with a Gioffredo Cappa Baroque violin. As a soloist, he performed with the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, the Venice Baroque Orchestra, the Sevilla Baroque Orchestra, the „Musica Viva“ Orchestra Moscow, the Camerata Salzburg, and the Baroque Orchestra Halle.
