Her mother changed her nsme from Akari to Lucinda. She attended Oakridge High School. The family moved to Los Angeles where she attended UCLA. She married Paul Gateman has 2 children 5 grandchildren, later divorced. She wrote for a Cusiine magazine and traveled around the world. She now owns her own publishing company.
