Both Duarte and I do what we can to live a good life, doing the right thing with compassion and kindness. It's a worthy cause and worth the work. To be honest, when I first thought of mindfulness and the universe "having my back", it was a bit alien to me. We are all social beings. As kids, the word NO is a tool to keep us safe. As we get older, those NO's become YES's and we take responsibility for the consequences. Life becomes a tug of war, of sorts, saying YES and NO along the way. But with conditioning, the YES's dominate and we lose sight that NO is a powerful tool to protect us as it did before.
