Late but back with another episode of the podcast! Nick and Jared hold things down and sadly kick things off with late breaking news on the sad passing of PnB Rock. Rock was sadly killed after being robbed at LA's famed Rosoce's Chicken & Waffles while dining with his girlfriend. As more on the story progresses, we give our shocking thoughts and feelings on the entire situation. We move on to a lighter note and talk about Joey Bada$$'s list of rappers turn actors. Social media did have some thoughts and let their opinions fly after Joey appeared on DJ Superstar Jay on Shade 45 to give out his list due to Joey becoming a rapper turned actor himself. Nick and Jared give their favorite rapper turned actors list while discussing Joey's list. Next up, after the sad passing of Queen Elizabeth II, Kanye West went on Instagram and told the world that he wants to end his beefs with Pete Davidson, Kid Cudi and Adidas GM Daniel Cherry. With all the olive branch being extended, we ask if Kanye is being genuine about killing his beefs, or if it's all one big publicity stunt. Next up, Joyner Lucas went on Hot 97's Funk Flex show and dropped a freestyle that left Flex in awe. After the dope freestyle, we ask if the freestyle is good enough to get Joyner back on track after a disappointing first album. After that, with all the arrests going on in hip hop today with rappers over their lyrics and having it used against them in court, The Breakfast Club's Charlamagne tha God says that rappers from the 90s are to blame for what's going on. After listening to what he said, the marauders ask themselves if he's right or wrong on rappers incriminating themselves for the crimes they are commiting. All that plus, One Gotta Go: Year edition, shoutouts, album recommendations and more!

It's been a long time but we are BACK and have a brand new episode of the podcast for you! Nick and Jared hold things down and kick things off with 50 Cent. 50 was recently on a Houston radio station and commented on how today making a rap record is easy, since everyone in 2022 sounds the same, over the same beats and sounds, we ask each other if 50 is right and what rappers can do to make themselves sound different in today's landscape. Next up, Ms. Nicki Minaj gets honored at this year's VMAs (August 28) with the highest honor of winning the Video Vanguard Award and becoming the ninth female overall to win it. (Missy Elliot was last to win the honor in 2019.) While we briefly look back at her career, we ask if it's too soon for Nicki to win the award since of the marauders feels like it's too early for her to win that award. After that, Chance the Rapper appeared on NY's The Breakfast Club morning show to address what's next for him, and to talk about how he has "falling off" since dropping The Big Day to negative reviews from fans. The marauders ask not only if he did fall off with that album but what he can do to get his fanbase back. Later, The Game finally dropped his long awaited album Drillmatic to a 31 track rollout with featured everyone under the sun. The track that has people talking the most is his diss to Eminem on "The Black Slim Shady" which has a lot of people talking about it to mixed reviews. We give our opinions on the diss track and give our first impressions on Game's new album and ask if it was worth the wait. All that plus One Gotta Go: Breakfast Club moments, laughs, album recommendations and more!!

Back again with another new episode with Nick & Jared kick things by starting off with some New York beef with Conway the Machine venting his frustrations on NY DJ Funk(master) Flex on him not being able to play Conway's music and accuses him of gatekeeping. As the two keep trading shot via social media, we ask if Conway should care about his music being played on the radio or if he should stick to streaming services and the mixtape world. Next up, one of the greatest ever, Jay Z, made a surprise appearance on Kevin Hart's new show Heart to Hart (Peacock) and tells the host that as of now, he not retired from music but he has no plans to make music. We ask the question on if it's time to Jay to hang it up and also giving our predictions on when he should drop his next album. After that, T Pain appears on DJ Akademiks Twitch channel to talk about the late great Tupac Shakur. During the show, Tallahassee Pain said that Tupac would have been "ate the f--k up (PAUSE!) due to the lyrics that we hear today" if he survived his fatal 1996 shooting in Vegas. We give our opinions on what Pac would be doing from 1997 to today and if he would be more interested in movies or music in 2022. All that plus, 90s One Gotta Go makes its triumphant return, albums recommendations and a lot more!

Back again with another new episode and another BRAND NEW SEASON of the show. Nick and Jared kick the season off after enjoying the long 4th of July weekend with Bobby Shmurda's rant on producers wanting him to pay up to 5 digits for beats that he wants, but feels like they are asking for way too much money. Some producers are responding back on why they feel the need to charge more for their beats. The marauders discuss on if producers should be getting paid the same as rappers or if they should be getting paid more. After that, the 2022 BET Awards have come and gone and a lot of surprises took place from Kanye's first appearance in almost a decade, to Brandy and Jack Harlow squashing their "beef" to Mariah Carey and Shyne taking the stage. We give our picks on what we loved and hated about the show and what we could have wished for. Later, social media was abuzz with the Omarion/Ray J/Mario/Sammie Verzuz battle that took place and it became memorable for all the wrong reasons. We talk and laugh about the entire battle and crown a undisputed winner (Spoiler Alert: It wasn't Ray J) and hear Ray J's excuse on what happened with his performance. All that plus album recommendations, shoutouts, more storytelling songs to be Rank'd and more!!

Apologies for the late drop, but Nick and Jared are back with the final episode of season two and they go out with a bang by kicking the off with Rolling Stone's Top 200 Greatest Hip Hop Albums of All Time list that had a lot of people talking for better and mostly for worse. We talk about what the magazine ranked as number one and one particular album that ranked higher than a lot of critical applauded and fan favorite albums (list further below in the notes). Next up, The Game is on his rap Wrestlemania rollout with his new album Drillmatic and is still hurt about him not being included at this year's Super Bowl but still continues to drag down Eminem. We give our thoughts on if we have high or low expectations for his upcoming album especially since there's no track listing (as of this episode) and no released singles. After that, XXL dropped their annual Freshman List on who's next to break out in hip hop (list and link further below in notes). We talk about the up and coming rappers and give our takes on who will break out in 2022 AND discuss our favorite years of the XXL Freshman List from the past. Later, Drake surprised the world by dropping a new album Honestly, Nevermind and... it divided a lot of fans and people have given it negative reviews. We give our (negative) takes on Drake's new album to lots of laughs. All that and Wu-Tang, laughs, album recommendations and more!

Back again with another new episode with Nick & Jared kicking things off with an old school vs. new school generation battle with Soulja Boy claiming that the old school rappers that came before him, haven't done anything for the new generation of rap artists (May 30) and legendary producer Pete Rock talks down on the new generation of rap by saying that drill rap (a subgenre of rap music with violent, gritty and realistic lyrics rapped over a slowed down beat) is trash due to him seeing people in his native Brooklyn dying in the street (May 27). We address both topics and give our thoughts and who we rule in favor of with the old school/new school war of words. Next up, the 2022 BET Awards nominations were announced (June 1) with Doja Cat leading the pack with six nominations but with everyone getting nominations for the show, one person in particular wasn't fond of not being nominated: Lil Nas X. With Queen Latifah backing him up and saying that he should have been on the ballot, we give our votes on whether or not he should have been and we give our annual predictions on the award show (June 26). After that, Yo! MTV Raps has made a comeback on Paramount+ with new hosts, battle rapper/Wild N Out castmember Conceited and DJ Diamond Kutz. We look back on the show which launched careers, gave first peeks at up and coming artists and had lots of memorable live perfomances and tell our favorite moments and then ask if Yo! was a better show than their rival show (BET's) Rap City and some answers may surprise you. All that plus, Reverse One Gotta Go, laughs, mistakes, COVID coughs, album recommendations and more!!

Despite those damn delays, we are back with our half century episode and we kick things off by giving out our Report Card Rating on Kendrick Lamar's Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers album which had the whole world talking when it came out on the 13th. We also talk about the controversy surrounding the album with Kendrick bringing in Kodak Black to appear on the album due to his legal problems in the past and ask if he was right to be featured on Mr. Morale. After that, YSL gets in deep trouble with Young Thug and Gunna being arrested for conspiring to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act, murder, armed robbery and participation in criminal street gang activity. With Young Thug being arrested and Gunna following suit a few days later, we give our thoughts on what comes next for both rappers and if their careers will be the same post RICO indictment. Later, 6 months after the Astroworld tragedy in Houston, Travis Scott made his first TV appearance by performing at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards in Vegas (May 15th). We ask ourselves if it is too early or if Travis should have waited in order to reappear on TV. Also, storytelling songs ranked, laughs, album recommendations and an announcement about the show!

Sorry for the delay (again) but we are back with a brand new episode with Nick and Jared rocking the mic and kicking things off with up and coming rapper DDG taking to Twitter and saying that rappers today are ten times better than rapper from the past. We debate on if DDG was right to make those comments and some of our comments may surprise you and we'll tell you who is better in what from the old and new schools. Next up, Pusha T is having a hell of a year so far with his album It's Almost Dry coming in at number one on the Billboard 200 album chart, the Arby's Spicy Fish diss to McDonald's (still fire! no pun intended) and going on a promotional tour to hype up the album. Some fans were thinking that he sent a shot at Cardi B in his song "Dreaming of the Past" due to a lyric in his song. We ask if it was a direct shot to her and if Cardi B deserved the Best Rap Album Grammy from 2019. After that, May 4th marks the 10 year passing of legendary rapper MCA of the Beastie Boys due to cancer. We take a look back at the boys' career, achievements and influences then ask if the trio from NYC is a top five hip hop group of all time since asking if top ten was too easy of a question. All that plus, ranking Kendrick Lamar's first five albums in our toughest Rank'd yet due to Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers dropping on May 13th, album recommendations, shoutouts and a lot more!!

Sorry for the delay! but we are back with another new episode with Nick and Jared and we kick things off with A$AP Rocky and him getting busted at LAX. Rocky was arrested and then later released due to a shooting incident that happened back in November 2021 where he allegedly shot a man in his hand in the Hollywood area. We give our quick thoughts on the entire situation surrounding him and if it'll hurt his career. After that, Fivio Foreign went on The Angie Martinez Show (April 12) and told Angie that Jay Z was the greatest rapper to come out of Brooklyn with Fivio being a Brooklyn native himself. We discuss if the answer was a safe answer to save face and if Jay really is the greatest MC to come out of the Brooklyn with others coming out like MC Lyte, B.I.G., Big Daddy Kane and more. Next, upcoming rapper Coi Leroy is in the headlines for her album TRENDSETTERS, but for some for all the wrong reasons, as her album is projected to sell 9,000 copies sold in its first week. We ask ourselves if the album is considered a flop in 2022 streaming services standards and if she can improve her craft or if it's too late for her. Later, Doja Cat is having a great 2022 so far with her winning a GRAMMY (April 4), performing at Coachella (April 17) and getting the respect she deserves from her peers including rapper Wale. The Nigerian rapper said on Twitter that Doja is one of the best rappers in the world today and Remy Ma saying that she isn't a rapper on an episode of Drink Champs but still gave Doja Cat her respect. We debate if Doja Cat is considered a rapper or should she be called a pop star and what should she do in order to get more respect from her rap peers and how she should challenge herself. All that plus, weed songs, album recommendations, shoutouts and a lot more!!

For this episode Nick and Kyle hold things down and kick things with the slap seen around the world! Will Smith slapping Chris Rock at The Oscars before presenting an award had the whole world talking even though Will won an award for his role in King Richard later on in the night. But the slap has drawn a lot of criticism from fans, viewers of the live show and celebrities alike. As of stepping down from The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences back on the first, and then a week later being banned for a decade from all Oscars events, we give our thoughts on him being banned for ten years and the entire Chris Rock situation. Next up, the 64th annual GRAMMYs happened on April 3rd and hip hop came through and had some winners from Lil Baby to Doja Cat to Tyler, the Creator. With the aforementioned winning Best Rap Album over J. Cole, Nas and Kanye West, we ask if the GRAMMYs made the right call on having Call Me If You Get Lost as the winner. After that, T.I. has found life as a stand up comedian these last few months, but, has lashed out at a comedienne during her set after she brought up his 2021 sexual allegations case with him and his wife that was thrown out in court. Even though both parties have made up, we say on why T.I. was wrong to lash out and if we would pay to see him perform stand up. Later, TRIGGER WARNING!!!, the family of slain DMV rapper Goonew made a decision to bring his body to a nightclub's closing party and had the dead rapper standing upright on stage while people were partying. We ask if the family went way too far by bringing the cadaver to the nightclub. All that plus, Best Rap Album One Gotta Go, shoutouts, album recommendations and more!
