In this podcast hosted by A Course of Love facilitators Lynn Kidd and Laurel Elstrom, Ronya Banks responds to the following questions:
1) What is love to you?
2) "Righteous anger" is a topic on which you recently spoke. What do you mean by righteous anger? Doesn’t everybody think their anger is righteous? How do I know if my anger is righteous, or is just my point of view?
3) Anger is a tricky subject in Buddhist teachings. Shantideva calls it "the most extreme negative force." Yet we know that repressing our feelings is never a good idea. Can you offer a practice for people who want to find that sweet spot of dealing with anger skillfully?
4) Would you say that the best approach is to transform the feeling of anger, or to use righteous anger to transform our world?
5) (Question of the week) Spiritual teacher Eckhart Tolle says often: "For some, suffering is their greatest teacher." The Persian poet, Rumi, writes: "Suffering is a gift in its hidden mercy." What purpose does suffering serve in our lives?
Ronya is a Vipassana meditation instructor. She is the founder and lead teacher of the Asheville Insight Meditation in Asheville, North Carolina and a certified mentor for the Power of Awareness program offered by Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach. As a mentor, she trains participants in a mindfulness teaching certification program, sponsored by Sounds True Publishing. In this podcast hosted by A Course of Love facilitators Lynn Kidd and Laurel Elstrom, John Mark Stroud responds to the following questions:
1) What is love to you?
2) It’s pretty fascinating that you’re doing this real life experiment with living from freedom. Will you explain why freedom is a priority for you? What have you freed yourself from? What is it that keeps most people bound?
3) a) What would you say is energetically going on within you now - that outwardly shows up as living in an airstream travel trailer? b) What is your relationship to time with this lifestyle?
4) Can you take us through a typical day for somebody who is committed to living from freedom? How do you decide what to do with your time and energy? Is it exhausting having so many choices?
5) (Question of the week) I have a live-in partner who yells all the time. It feels verbally abusive. This has been going on for several years. I have small children at home and have nowhere else to go. How is love the answer to seeing my inner truth - in what is feeling like a hopeless external situation?
John Mark Stroud began his journey as a successful businessman. Eventually, he felt moved to sell his business and begin the inward search for the peace and happiness that he felt deeply was eluding him. He was swept up in a "tidal wave" of synchronistic events which eventually led him into a direct experience of boundless love. A Course in Miracles, A Course of Love, and Way of Mastery have all been part of his journey. At one point, John Mark did some teaching, yet now he focuses on living and responding to life from a place of freedom, along with his wife, Cindy. His website is: http://www.onewhowakes.org/

In this podcast hosted by A Course of Love facilitators Lynn Kidd and Laurel Elstrom, Georgie Jessup responds to the following questions:
1) What does love mean to you?
2) I want to begin by recognizing that, as a transgender person, you have had a unique relationship with your own masculine and feminine energies. What has your experience taught you about balancing both energies?
3) a) I think most people want to be trans-supportive, but they don’t fully understand the transgender experience. A trans person doesn’t actually change their gender. They just change the outside to match how they’ve experienced themselves all along. Would you agree with that, and can you talk about what the experience of being born into a body that doesn’t match you is like? b) Do you miss white male privilege? Culturally, what have you noticed that’s different about presenting in the world as female?
4) The Lakota Native culture is an important part of your life. Can you share the Lakota tribe’s sacred role of a “winkte,” and how that relates to your personal journey?
5) (Question of the week) I have worked very hard to reach what I have achieved. Suddenly everything is falling apart. Life seems to be showing me a different direction, but I strongly feel the profession I have worked toward is my soul calling. Should I go with the flow and see where it leads, or should I strive for what I feel is my soul calling? How is love the answer to finding my next step?
Georgie Jessup is a singer, musician, and songwriter in the "cosmic Americana" genre. As a transgender woman, her passionate song lyrics reflect her outspoken advocacy for transgender rights, animal rights, Native American issues, and environmental sanity. In this podcast hosted by A Course of Love facilitators Lynn Kidd and Laurel Elstrom, Virenia Peeples responds to the following questions:
1) What does love mean to you?
2) I am fascinated that you have had a successful show business career because in spite of all that public approval, you’re more interested in living as love. How has fame affected your spiritual journey? Has it helped or hindered your recognition of your essential Self as something beyond identity?
3) In your Human Harmonics work, you say that love is a frequency, and we can use that frequency to access the whole of who we are. How do I access the frequency of love within myself?
4) Let's talk about this woman who is at the crossroads of her life, and is crying on the beach because she doesn't know who she is, or what she wants. Can you say a little about the self that you present to the world and the authentic Self?
5) (Question of the week) Sometimes I am certain God will see me through. Sometimes I have doubts and on a rare occasion I've gone into despair without a ray of hope. What is the key to returning to the knowing that I'm always being supported?
Virenia has had a successful career expressing herself through acting, singing, and dancing under the name Nia Peeples. After she experienced upheavals in her life, she traveled the world to listen to her heart and discover who she really is. She now wants to simply be Love through living it out loud, and empower others to do the same. She has written a children's book entitled The Little Apple Tree, which has been brought into classroom curriculum. Her websites are https://www.humanharmonics.life/ and https://www.niapeeples.com/.

In this podcast hosted by A Course of Love facilitators Lynn Kidd and Laurel Elstrom, Suzanne Quinney responds to the following questions:
1) What does love mean to you?
2) (a) I think a lot of people have heard of Findhorn, the intentional community in Scotland, but I understand that it has evolved beyond its beginnings. Years ago when I heard Peter Caddy speak, I was fascinated by his description of the founders’ work with nature spirits and by their efforts to communicate with them. It seemed magical. Is this emphasis on nature still practiced today? How has it evolved? (b) Can you clarify how co-creating works in the Findhorn community?
3) (a) What are some personal examples of NEW ways of togetherness being born in the collaborative atmosphere @ Findhorn? (b) In what ways have you personally transformed living within community?
4) Another subject we want to touch on today is that of taize singing. I have participated in a taize service myself and found it extremely peaceful and sacred. Can you talk a little about what taize is and how it contributes to community?
5) (Question of the week) I have always longed to belong to a group of people who really support and care about each other. Our culture provides plenty of surface level interaction, but aside from joining an existing intentional community, what can I do to connect with people on a deep level? How is love the answer to finding the kind of genuine connection I crave?
Suzanne and her husband have formed their own business in the UK which provides training and facilitation for using appreciative inquiry. Suzanne is currently a member of the Findhorn community in Scotland, and is a longtime student of A Course of Love and A Course in Miracles. She is inspired by and loves Taize singing. 1) What does love mean to you?
2) You tell a lot of amazing stories about how Christ helped you diagnose and treat patients. I’d like to know if we can tune into this kind of wisdom as individuals in order to diagnose and treat our own bodies, and if so, how?
3) (a) You've spoken of quieting the breath, placing your hands over your heart, and saying the words "I AM." What is happening here? (b) HeartMath Institute's research shows that the heart is intuitive and has its own intelligence and wisdom. Does the heart also have a healing frequency?
4) A Course of Love and Right Use Of Will suggest that once we’ve learned to live as the Self, our bodies don’t have to die. Yet everybody I know of so far has had an expiration date. What do you think about this teaching? Do human bodies have to die?
5) How do I make practical decisions if I don’t use my thoughts and mind to evaluate my best choices?
6) (Question of the week) Dr. Deepak Chopra says that our body is a blueprint of our thoughts. Do thoughts create dis-ease in our bodies? What about feelings that are repressed and denied? Do denied feelings create disease? How is love the answer to our relationship with disease in our own bodies?
Rod Chelberg, M.D. (aka "Dr. Rod") is a retired physician who practiced medicine for 28 years, including Emergency Room, ICU, and Hospice. He’s also the author of the book, When God Calls, Say "Yes." His website is https://www.rodchelberg.com/
