Last week we talked about the upcoming console war between Sony and Microsoft, but where does Nintendo fit in? We think they need to step up their game to compete against the PS5 and Xbox Series X, particularly in regards to online multiplayer. We also discuss this week's #MoviesDefined, "Portrait of a Lady On Fire" with special guest Frankie.

This week on Loosely Defined we cover the box office GIANT that is the beautiful, bountiful, blue hedgehog. But since neither of us saw it we're going to talk about video games movies we would like to see. We also discuss more generally what it takes for a video game adaptation to work and why so many have failed.

Congratulations to all of the Oscar winners, and while we could go in depth about Parasite, 1917, or any of the other amazing films that took home awards, we're just going to keep talking about Joker! It's been a big couple months for Mr. J and now even his ex-girlfriend has her own movie, which Ed gives his spoiler free thoughts on. Also, Bo did his first Destiny 2 raid, which led us into a discussion on how games can balance accessibility and depth to avoid gate-keeping in their communities.

The big game was this passed weekend, but here on Loosely Defined we don't watch football. Instead we watch the trailers and commercials the next day and then end up talking about Overwatch for 40 minutes instead! That's the Loosely Defined way, as this is one of the more loose and open ended episodes of the podcast yet.

The greatest crossover fighting game of all time is not PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, but if it had a sequel it could be. In this week's episode, Bo and Ed discuss the possibility of a PlayStation All-Stars 2 and potential characters to be added to the roster. Additionally, we also discuss Ed's experience at the Movie Trivia Schmoedown Live in Brooklyn as well as the tragic death of Kobe Bryant and seven others over the weekend.

We may be a little late to the part but Star Wars is pretty much always a hot topic of conversation. Especially as the end of 2019 brought with it the finale of The Mandalorian, the end of the Skywalker Saga in The Rise of Skywalker, and EA's first successful Star Wars game launch with Jedi: Fallen Order. We'll go over our thoughts on all three, as well as Bo's continued watchthrough of The Clone Wars. Then we look towards the future of the franchise and talk The Clone Wars season 7, The Mandalorian season 2, the future movies, and what games we'd like to see get the Star Wars coat of paint.
