What are the two most important days of a human being’s life?
👶🏾 Is the day they were born.
✊🏾 And the day they understood why (purpose).
This beautiful quote was said by the elder Uncle Bertie who guided me through my early struggles with addiction.
He understood his purpose was to make sure he was setting the right example to the next generation.
And I’ve continued the legacy.

Asking for help can often be deemed as a weakness.
As men, we are taught that we need to constantly be “hard” and “tough” because that’s what defines us.
And when we suppress all this to show a front, it’s only a matter of time before we implode.
Let’s remove that notion of what it is to be a man and replace it with that “we are human”.
Not only does it change the perspective that we all have emotions and feelings, but it means that we are all flawed creatures that will ride the ebb and flow of life.
When I was at my lowest, I thought I knew all the answers.
When in reality, I needed support to guide me.
So if you need a sign, this is it. Don’t be afraid to ask for help.

This one is for the dreamers, those who have a vision and a mission.
I found my place on this earth when it didn’t seem possible.
Alcohol got the best of me.
It turned me into a liar, a cheat, and a thief.
But today I am sober, and a mentor to those who were in my shoes.
That dream has become a purpose where I can inspire others and share my story in front of 65,000 people in Atlanta.

This is the story of a young boy who was dealt the wrong hand in life.
Grew up with no father figure, no guidance, extreme welfare condition with seven other siblings, in jail on his 18th birthday and addicted to alcohol.
But despite the odds, he found that if he couldn't handle failure, he was in no way ever going to experience success.
