Hello listeners. Welcome to another episode in our show. Today, we will be focusing on a much serious topic related to pandemic. ER doctors are doctors that respond to any number of illnesses or injuries. These honorable doctors have an important role in stabilizing and treating patients before determining the next steps based on the health assessment.
Our next special guest is Dr. Vikash Mishra, an ER Doctor that plays an integral role each day in treating patients. Today, Dr. Vikash Mishra is here to give us the straight talk on today’s pandemic and how we can take precautionary health measures related to Covid.
Let’s welcome Dr. Vikash Mishra. Flu season is upon and us and with it, we still have the pandemic scare. Listen in to 'Straight Talk on Covid' and how we can take healthy measures to better prepare ourselves with Covid in the Flu Season.
It's my pleasure to have a heart-to-heart conversation with Dr. Vikash Mishra @vdmdlv @realtalkdoctalk.
Some of the topics we will cover are:
1. Can you clear the air on how covid is contracted? Is it through the mouth, eyes, inhaled, sharing the same bathrooms, surfaces, and so on?
2. There is a lot of buzz around asymptomatic or pre-symptomatic COVID-19- what is the difference and in your thoughts are the precautionary steps the same between the two?
3. If there is a family gathering, there is a couple who were covid positive then quarantined for 14days and retested as being negative and happen to go family Thanksgiving event, can they pass covid to other members? Should the folks who had covid- should they avoid such gatherings for the safety of others?
4. What are some of the symptoms to prompt a Covid test?
5. There’s always some discussion around the age group. Is there any spectrum of the population more vulnerable to acquiring covid such as certain age groups, health conditions, gender, or ethnicity?
6. What’s your opinion on what masks are safer than others. Now that there are so many mask options out there. Are there some masks that help such as those cute designer masks vs n95 original masks? What precautionary measures to keep us safe? Do you mind providing protocols on Covid safety?
7. Are there any preventive measures that one can take besides distancing and using face masks from contracting covid such as zinc, vitamin d, c, and turmeric along with nutrient-dense foods? In cases where someone has been taking preventive products and happen to contract covid, are these people more likely to recover rapidly compared to others?
8. Given we are approaching the flu season, some of the symptoms are quite similar affecting our sinus, nose and throat, lungs. It can become really confusing for non-health professionals to decipher between the two. Are there any steps our audience can take to isolate the differences? What are your recommendations on keeping healthy; what if we have taken the flu vaccine to reduce our risk- should we assume we don’t have the flu if we have a fever, chills, dizziness, etc.? Does taking the flu vaccine to reduce the chance of acquiring covid? What are your thoughts on if any, groups that should or shouldn’t take the flu vaccine?
9. What are some other points we should look into that you think are important which will help our audience to be better prepared for this pandemic?
