Dr. Crawford Loritts says that becoming a disciple of Jesus requires a decisive commitment. You have to decide. Jesus does not call for incrementalism.  He does not call you to wander your way into this thing. He does not call for you to process your way into this. To become a disciple means in some many words, you have no control over your life. It’s a life-long journey.
