When the Orion Ensemble returns to the Levin Studio for this edition of Live From WFMT, they will collaborate with friends in a performance of one of the pinnacles of the chamber repertoire: Schubert’s great Octet in F major.

Pianist Matthew Hagle is a musician of great versatility and depth, whose performances are a rare mixture of musical understanding, imaginative programming, pianistic mastery and beauty of sound. Matt is also a Live From WFMT favorite, and we’re delighted to welcome him back to the Levin Studio for the first time since the pandemic.

Join Kerry Frumkin as he welcomes cellist Anita Graef back to Live From WFMT along with pianist Louise Chan. The duo's program will include music for cello and piano by Ludwig van Beethoven, Amy Beach, and Johannes Brahms.

Founded in 2011, Civitas is a chamber music ensemble with a threefold mission: to present engaging live performances of new and traditional works; to inspire a young generation of classical musicians; and to bring the healing power of music to those with limited access to live performances. The trio performs works by Richard Strauss, Gustav Mahler, and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

WFMT is honored to present a recital by two extraordinarily virtuosic collaborators who happen to share the same last name. The pair plays music by Gabriel Fauré, Frédéric Chopin, and Felix Mendelssohn.
