Life’s Middle Moments: In the Middle of Both Sides of the Pandemic
Over 7 months into its 2nd year in the US, the Covid-19 virus continues to be a topic of discussion and disagreement over vaccines, mask mandates, and medical and scientific discoveries. In this episode of Life’s Middle Moments: In the Middle of Both Sides of the Pandemic, you’ll hear candid conversation as Bry and Sheila share their thoughts on how we could all be more supportive of each others choices and decisions, encouraging each of us to respond to one another with compassion and empathy, rather than with harshness and hurtful words. The strong debate over treatments of the virus continues as some view the large survival rate after infection with hope and encouragement of a positive outcome, while others view the number of Covid-19 related deaths as an opportunity to continue to decrease the loss of lives through various methods. According to the CDC, in the US through 8/22/21 there have been 37.7M active Covid-19 cases resulting in 628K deaths and 37.1M recoveries. As the country continues to see new Covid-19 positive cases daily, the debate surrounding vaccines, mandates, and regulations rise, with booster vaccine shots within sight. As people are making choices for themselves, their families, and their communities, Bry and Sheila noted that the more information we can share in a positive, educational, and understanding manner about both sides of this virus, the better our country will be. Humanity, life, respect, and love for one another should be our priority, choosing open mindedness and kindness above anger and judgement. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/lifesmiddlemoments/support

Life’s Middle Moments: In the Middle of My Heart Attack Followed by Open Heart Surgery
In this episode, Sheila recounts the days and months leading up for her mild heart attack. “At the age of 43, my doctors discovered that I had a rare birth defect on my heart called Myocardial Bridge in which the heart muscle had grown over the main artery restricting blood flow. Over the past several years, I had experienced extreme fatigue, severe lack of energy, steady weight gain, increasingly high blood pressure, excruciating arm pain, and a heaviness in my chest. After numerous tests, the birth defect was ultimately located during a heart cath and the outcome to correct it was open heart surgery. It was a long journey of recovery to say the least; however, I could not be more grateful to the doctors, nurses, physical therapists, family, friends, and even strangers who helped me through it all. To be eight years post surgery and able to share my story to help spread awareness regarding women’s heart health is a beautiful blessing!” - Sheila --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/lifesmiddlemoments/support

Life’s Middle Moments: In the Middle of Generational Differences
One thing in our lives we can always expect is that moments, days, and years will pass by, sometimes quicker than anticipated and often faster than we think. In this episode of Life’s Middle Moments: In the Middle of Generational Differences, Sheila reminiscences about her teenage years in the 80’s of cruising around the local mall parking lots. She shares the memories she still holds fondly of simpler times before cell phones and social media. A time when meeting up with friends had to be planned in advance of the weekend and a time when driving around town was the popular pastime. Bry and Sheila also discuss the differences between generations, how their teenage years differed and the lessons they each learned; one before a time of instant access to the world and the other growing up with it. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/lifesmiddlemoments/support
