This is an incredible trip down memory lane for this old NY/UCB comedy nerd who was there, and a wonderful education for those who weren’t. Thank you for making this show, Will! I’m surprised we never crossed paths way back when.

Been waiting for something like this for a long time… Great conversation with an eye for the concrete history of how comedy scenes develop that’s more than just insular locker room pats on the back. I’ve always been curious about what folks that ‘make it’ actually go through, but comedians always seem to gloss over the nitty gritty of how ordinary people end up in your living room making you laugh. I never heard of the host before, but he clearly cares about comedy in an almost anthropological way and I love it. Very curious to see how these conversations develop over time…

I’ve only been able to listen to the first episode (the only one available so far) but I can already say this is a must listen for anyone who values comedy as a craft and an art form. It’s a deep dive into the struggles and successes of comedians, who’s crossed paths with and influenced who, where the ideas for sketches and shows came from, and just what makes a joke funny. If that makes it sound “insiders”, it’s not. Imo this is for anyone who likes to laugh!

If you like to hear about the history and details of comedians’ experiences, this is a must-listen. Great stuff!
