I originally started listening because I watched Dance Academy as a kid but continue to listen because of their honest, moving, and hilarious conversations. Not a mum but a nanny and an auntie, this show has helped in so many ways, from helping with mental/physical health, and being a better nanny, to giving me just something to break up the silence of some of my days. This podcast is essential listening. Was a huge fan of Dance Academy and am a HUGE fan of Life Academy! Honest conversations that are such a breath of fresh air. This podcast is what the world needs more of!

I found Dance Academy in adulthood and grew up very sheltered in a high control religion. Watching dance academy felt like watching the teen-hood I wish I’d had and it was actually healing to watch. Then life academy was announced! catching up with these girls in adulthood who are so relatable and fun and kind is like continuing the journey! Loving it! Feels like catching up with friends!

A few weeks ago, they popped up on my FYP on tik tok and could not believe that they created this podcast. I remember watching them on dance academy and watched their lives unfold in front of my eyes through social media. I literally never leave a review but when I found myself laughing out loud and saying “exactly D” as if I was there, I knew I had to leave a review. Thank you so much to the both of you for being extremely vulnerable with us.

i started listening because i’ve loved dance academy since childhood, but honestly? i didn’t think i’d listen to more than an episode or two. i was worried they’d be too industry-pilled and unrelatable, and just thought it wouldn’t be my vibe since i normally listen to comedy/current events podcasts. i’m so so glad i was wrong — i have loved every episode and find them extremely impactful. i really resonate with dena’s approach to women’s (and everyone’s) health and wellness, and have found it to be a lovely change of pace and a great reality check. thank you so much dena and alicia!!

As a Dance Academy LOVER, I was initially so excited to hear the announcement of this podcast coming out. I already knew I was going to love it, but after listening to the first episode, it's my new favorite podcast. I love how it's about their current lives but also how Dance Academy is incorporated! I love the new episode with Thom and would love for y'all to talk to some others as well! Definitely recommend this podcast! Love Dena and Alicia and am excited for the future.

I have been following along with your lives since I got my first phone in 2016. I was only about 8 when I started watching Dance Academy and as a former competitive dancer that graduated last year and has not been dancing since, I’m so happy I get to listen to my favorite characters and your lives! I will need a new episode everyday lol.

Only heard the first episode but the stories and life experiences are interesting and besides I’ve had a crush on them both since streaming Dance Academy about 8 yrs ago.

I discovered Dance Academy during COVID —a time when, as a old dancer / performer, I was craving anything and everything related to dance and theatre. This teen series became a much-needed escape, full of heart and soul. So stumbling upon the Life Academy podcast hosted by Alicia Banit and Dena Kaplan (I follow on social media!!!)— ("Kat" the popular girl and "Abigail" the Ballet Diva)two of the original stars—felt like reuniting with old friends. Listening to Life Academy and hearing their voices again, but with the added depth of real-life experience. Alicia and Dena bring a realness, honesty, and humor to their podcast, as they share their journeys. It's inspiring to hear how their lives have evolved since Dance Academy, and how they’re still very much involved in the arts today. Whether you’re a fan of the series, a performer yourself, or just someone interested in honest conversations about growth, creativity, and life, give this podcast a listen. It’s a beautiful reminder of where they’ve been—and how far they, and we, have all come.

Years ago I ended up pretty sick one summer and was out of commission recovering for three months. I spent most of my time resting & looking for something new to watch in order to pass the time when I stumbled upon the show Dance Academy. I immediately became hooked and connected with the characters! Every summer since I try to do a rewatch because it’s now a comfort watch since it provided entertainment during a really rough time. So this podcast popping up right as I’m starting to think about watching the show again is perfect! Listening to Dena and Alicia really feels like reconnecting with friends from your past to chat about life, and what you’ve been up to since you last saw each other, while also reminiscing about a show that made such an impact. This couldn’t have started at a better time and I look forward to listening to these two this summer and beyond!

All my friends know Dance Academy is one of my all-time favorite shows, so I was already a big fan of Dena and Alicia! The show is so refreshing and fun that it feels like I am just on the phone with friends when I am listening. Loved hearing all about their pasts in the entertainment industry, can’t wait to tune in every week!
