Patty Fahy is a voice in the wilderness for physician leadership. Corporate MBA’s have overtaken health care in America to its detriment. The loss of autonomy for physicians has led to increased burnout and compromised patient care. Dr. Fahy presents a compelling case for the return of physician leadership. Anyone interested in the future of healthcare would be wise to listen to her words.

Dr. Fahy provides a clear and focused perspective on the position of physicians in health care today. Physicians must be part of leadership in health care, Fahy argues, so that physicians have a voice and our patients have advocates. As a physician in an academic practice, I have learned so much from Dr. Fahy's leadership coaching - she has given me the tools to succeed in leadership within my department.

This cuts through the chatter - you'll quickly grasp why/who are the people in your organization that inspire and lead vs those who only take up oxygen. Worthwhile listening for anyone looking to improve their group/organization's work dynamics. And so encouraging for those who have considered stepping into leadership roles or wish to improve their own leadership skills. While its aimed at MD's and their leadership, its insights are widely applicable as you'll recognize very familiar personality patterns that likely populate your own workplace.

The state of American healthcare has been insidiously on the decline for decades. We’ve been hoodwinked into believing with a proper structure and the right measurements we could excel. How's that working? The *we* is what changed. “We” used to be the patient, the American public, the practice of medicine. Now *we* is the establishment, the conglomerate in the corner office. Dr. Fahy examines in depth how a gradual shift from patient focus to profit focus and a move to MBA / MHA running of medical care has sacrificed not only patient well-being but doctor well-being. Diminished roles of physician and healthcare worker as employees rather than leaders in medical practices is jeopardizing healthcare. But Dr. Fahy provides hope, light and optimism on first how to recognize this and second how to address. Yea Dr. Fahy for the skill recognizing the problems inherent in the current structure as well as in articulating a path forward.

Thankful that someone intelligent is putting their opinions and experiences into the world this way. Great point of view based on science and evidence!

This podcast is not just for doctors and healthcare administrators. It’s a treasure trove of practical leadership wisdom and a confidence-boosting lesson on taking on the behemoth. Necessary and important.

This podcast is for anyone interested in cultural and societal improvement. Dr. Fahy breaks down and describes how systems, not just health care systems, can radically change if we empower the right people with the tools to do so. Seriously inspiring in its clarity, honesty, depth of understanding and entertaining to boot! It will clear away the cobwebs and offer an intelligent and humane path forward!

I never leave reviews on podcasts, but for this one I had to. This is the most well-organized, succinct, exactly-what-I-needed podcast right now. Even more relevant during the pandemic (writing this 3/2020). It feels empowering to hear the evidence behind what we in the medical profession all feel is true, but haven't had the words to say (or maybe aren't allowed to say). Can't recommend it enough. Just listen to it!
