Continuing on the with theme of appropriation, in this episode I talk about the colonization of food, the ongoing of appropriation in middle eastern dance and we touch on some stories of growing up here. This is a risky episode for me, I am doing my best to be as real as possible but years of living in fear is still hovering. I am humble for your time, and am grateful for your presence in learning what it is like to be an Arab in this country.

Time for the actual experiences from actual people, see the world through the eyes of our culture, listen to their truth about education, work and of course "BELLY DANCE".Thank you for your time and space. This is the first of the United States of Appropriation series. My guest and I will share our firsthand recollection of working in higher ed, experiencing the entitlement of our culture and the need to educate on it without actual experience. I will go into more detail about my experience as a dancer in the "belly dance" community in this episode.
